Swifties around the world are rejoicing as the day has finally arrived!

Taylor Swift has dropped her brand new 12-track studio album, The Life Of A Showgirl, today (October 3), featuring a collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter, a George Michael sample, and her raunchiest song yet.

And it's safe to say that her fans are obsessed and have already started doing what they do best - decoding every line to look for Easter eggs.

One song in particular that's being dubbed a 'diss track' has left people baffled, as they're trying to work out who it's about, and a few A-list names have been thrown into the mix.

The tune we're talking about is 'Actually Romantic,' which has some pretty savage lyrics that have raised eyebrows.

Taylor opens by singing: "I heard you call me ‘Boring Barbie’ when the coke’s got you brave / High-fived my ex and then said you’re glad he ghosted me / Wrote me a song saying it makes you sick to see my face."

The song continues: "Some people might be offended / But it’s actually sweet / All the time you’ve spent on me."

The cryptic lyrics have quickly made their way around social media and fans are convinced that the tune could be about Charli XCX as a rebuttal of her song 'Sympathy is a Knife' from her 2024 album 'Brat'.

In that song, Charli seemingly throws a few digs at Taylor and alludes to the 'Bad Blood' hitmakers' short 2023 relationship with The 1975 frontman Matty Healy.

She sings: "Don’t know if I’m spiralling / One voice tells me that they laugh / George says I’m just paranoid / Don’t wanna see her backstage at my boyfriend’s show / Fingers crossed behind my back / I hope they break up real quick”.

The 'George' who is mentioned is Charli's now-husband, George Daniel, who is the drummer in the band.

So, you can see how fans have made the connection and are now convinced there is some drama going on between the two huge stars.

And those who are both Swifties and fans of Charli don't know how to react, with one person writing on Twitter: "What do I do as someone who is a superfan of both Taylor Swift and Charli CXC," while another added: "Actually Romantic is definitely about Charli XCX."

Meanwhile, other fans penned: "Taylor is DONE being nice - this is shade with a capital S" and "What happens if I'm a Charli and Taylor fan."

However, it's of course not been confirmed who the song is about and Charli and Taylor have actually complimented each other in recent years, which adds the confusion.

Other theories of who the song's subject is include Nicki Minaj.

Someone else argued: "Honestly this sounds more like Nicki shade," while another fan wrote: "She was talking about Nicki."

"The way this could be about multiple people," penned another.

However, to add more confusion into the mix, Nicki herself has tweeted out in support of the album this morning and has specifically praised this song.

She wrote: "Taylor said 'I heard you called me boring Barbie when the Coke’s got your brain'. Why all the SAGs giving out lashings tonight? Oh wow. and #Cancelled is diabolical Let’s go TAYLOR!!!!!!"

Nicki also penned: "GO IN FOR THE KILL, TAYLOR. LET’S GO!!!!"
