In a crossover no one saw coming, Kylie Jenner just made an unexpected career move with none other than Charli XCX.

The 28-year-old reality TV star has grown up in the spotlight on her family's reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians, which sprung her into the limelight from a young age.

Since then, she's made a name for herself in the beauty industry where she built her $1.2 billion cosmetics empire and was even (briefly) named the youngest self-made billionaire of all-time in 2019.

Forbes later stripped her of the title, accusing her family of misleadingly inflating her wealth, which Jenner denies.

She's also continued with her TV appearances on The Kardashians, as well as posting to her 391 million Instagram followers and regularly attends red carpets events with her actor boyfriend Timothée Chalamet.

And now, as we say, it looks like she's following in his footsteps and entering the world of acting.

Kylie has already done bits and pieces here and there, like making cameos in movies, for example in the 2018 film Ocean's 8, and voicing animated characters such as 'Penelopuff' in Trolls: Holiday in Harmony (2021) as well as playing herself in an episode of The Simpsons (2023).

But she's now set to make her official acting debut in the upcoming mockumentary-style film The Moment, which is scheduled for release in January 2026, and she's doing it alongside Charli XCX.

The movie, which is scheduled for a theatrical release in the United States at the end of January, stars the Brat singer playing a version of herself - 'a rising pop star navigates the complexities of fame and industry pressure while preparing for her arena tour debut'.

It's being produced through her production company, Studio365, is backed by A24 and is actually based on an original idea by Charli herself.

Also starring in The Moment with Charli and Kylie are Rachel Sennott, Kate Berlant, Alexander Skarsgård and Rosanna Arquette.

Fans got a first look of the trailer yesterday (11 December) where they got to see the reality TV star in action for the first time.

As per Page Six, Kylie stars as herself in the film and she previously described her role as a 'very small part'.

In the trailer, she makes a brief appearance where she's seen giving Charli some advice about life in the spotlight.

She told her: "The second people are getting sick of you, that’s when you need to go even harder."

Although it was a very quick cameo, it's given an idea of what we can expect from The Kardashians star in January.

Kylie first spoke of the collaboration during an appearance on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s Khloe in Wonderland podcast earlier this year, where she admitted she was 'scared' to take on the challenge.

She said: "Oh my god. For the Charli movie coming out, I was - Khloé, I was so scared for days to actually do it. I had a very small part. I mean, I had a lot of lines, but I was just so afraid.

"I think I used to do a lot more things out of my comfort zone, and now I’m used to being very sheltered, staying in like a, you know, safe box for me.”

She continued: “It’s probably the reason why I don’t share as much, just to not be judged or criticised or - years of that takes a toll on you and I think at a certain point you’re like, ‘OK, I’m going to do A, B, and C to just protect myself’ … I was very scared to do this and very proud of myself when I did it."
