Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton's friendship has reportedly hit a major bump in the road after the socialite allegedly cancelled 17 interviews for a new biography about the SKIMS founder.
The pair's relationship has been thrown back into the spotlight by journalist Jonathan Van Meter, who spent five years researching his newly-released biography, Citizen Kim: The Woman Who Created the Future.
This week, Van Meter claimed that Hilton was one of the few people he couldn't get to speak about Kardashian for his work - something the reality TV star wasn't thrilled to hear herself.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the writer explained that Kardashian, 46, had helped arrange the interview with Hilton 45, only for it to fall through repeatedly over several months.
"Late in the process, I told Kim I should talk to [Hilton]," Van Meter alleged. "Kim checked and said Paris agreed, but I had to go through her publicist. That was unusual: With everybody else, Kim just sent a text."
He went on to claim he'd 'sent questions' and 'connected with Paris' assistant' to arrange the catch-up, but said 'the interview was canceled 17 times over about four months'.

"Eventually I thought the cancellations were more interesting than whatever she’d tell me," Van Meter continued.
When it came to Kardashian's reaction to Hilton's supposed snub, the journalist claimed: "Kim was so mad when I told her. It seemed to stir up some ancient irritation between them.:
He also described the situation as 'the creation turning on the creator'.
For anyone who remembers the early 2000s, Kardashian and Hilton were once practically inseparable.
The former initially worked as the latter's assistant and stylist during Hilton's The Simple Life era, appearing alongside her in the celebrity scene long before Keeping Up With the Kardashians made the titular star a household name in 2007.

Kardashian has previously acknowledged just how much the friendship helped her career.
Speaking to the Los Angeles Times in 2019, she said: "A lot of people became aware of who I was through my friendship with her."
She also admitted that they had 'lost contact for a little bit' after she began filming her own reality show, but said they would reconnect whenever they crossed paths, describing Hilton as 'always really supportive and really sweet about it'.
Their relationship wasn’t always smooth sailing, though. In 2008, Hilton made disparaging comments about Kardashian's appearance, and the pair reportedly stopped speaking for a period.

The hotel heiress was also notably absent from Kardashian's 2014 wedding to rapper Kanye West.
But it wasn’t the end of their friendship.
The pair began reconnecting in 2016, with Hilton later speaking positively about their renewed bond.
In 2020, Kardashian even featured Hilton in a SKIMS campaign before attending the attended mother-of-two's wedding to Carter Reum in 2021.
Following Van Meter's latest claims, a source close to Paris disputed the suggestion that the pair are feuding once again, telling PEOPLE that the missed interviews came down to scheduling difficulties.
"An old assistant at Paris’s company was coordinating the interview, and it seems to have gotten lost in the shuffle of Paris’s incredibly hectic schedule," they said.

"As you can imagine, she has a lot of projects happening at once and is constantly traveling, so coordinating interviews can sometimes be a challenge."
They continued: "Kim is not mad. In fact, she and Paris are both involved in each other’s upcoming projects and continue to always support one another."
