Kim Kardashian's daughter North West's Halloween costume sparks sad debate

North West, 12, shared a glimpse at one of her 2025 costumes on TikTok

No one celebrates spooky season like the Kardashians - but this year, North West has opted for a bit of a different costume.

The 12-year-old took to TikTok yesterday (28 October), where she gave her fans a glimpse at one of her several ghoulish get-ups.

Oh, yeah - unlike your average pre-teens, the Kardashian-West youngsters often dazzle their fans with an wide array of looks in the run-up to 31 October.

Back in 2023, North - the eldest daughter of now-divorced duo Kim Kardashian and Kanye West - went viral for her gorgeously accurate portrayal of Dionne Davenport from the film Clueless, while her reality TV star mother rocked a complimenting Cher Horowitz number.

And just last year, North - who recently debuted a dramatic transformation - donned three contrasting looks.

She wore a blue suit and blonde bob one night to emanate musician Tyler, The Creator, a black and white latex catsuit another night, which she paired with a red guitar to portray singer-songwriter H.E.R.

North also won mass praise in 2024 for her Princess Tiana outfit, from The Princess and the Frog movie.

This year, however, she opted for a slightly more obscure costume, inadvertently setting tongues wagging around the world.

For anyone that hasn't yet caught wind of her 2025 number, the social media star was joined by two of her young friends on TikTok this week, where she was seen dressed as streamer Kai Cenat.

She wore a simple grey blazer, which she paired with a white shirt and red tie, as well as a dreaded wig and an adorable fake beard.

To the non-streamers out there, Cenat is a 23-year-old YouTuber and internet personality who specialises in comedic live streams and videos. He actually boasts the title of the most-subscribed Twitch streamer in the world with over 19 million followers.

It comes after Cenat attended North's birthday celebrations last year - though, this was seen as rather controversial at the time.

For Halloween this year, two of the youngster's friends, meanwhile, dressed up as Cenat's collaborators, Ray and Tota MC.

While you could certainly argue that North would look super-sweet in every costume she wears, onlookers have voiced their criticism over her rather niche choice, wondering why kids nowadays seem to stray so far from 'traditional' get-ups.

"Kids don’t watch cartoons anymore they watch twitch that’s actually insane to me," one X user hit out.

Another predicted: "Bro we’re one generation away from influencers cosplaying their fans."

"Kids watching Twitch instead of cartoons?" a third questioned. "That's just another sign of how we're failing to protect their innocence. Streaming culture is turning them into mini-adults before they even understand the world."

The same user went on to suggest: "Maybe it's time we start questioning why we're letting influencers shape their childhoods instead of educators and storytellers."

Others, however, claimed they'd been left impressed by North's latest look, with one gushing: "North West just dropped the hardest collab of 2025 - Kai, Tota, Ray cosplay on POINT—Twitch kids eating cartoons for breakfast now."

"The true measure of cultural relevance in 2025," someone else went on. "When the kids of billionaires dress up as popular YouTubers/Twitch streamers instead of superheroes or pop stars. Kai Cenat is officially a certified cultural icon. The accuracy on this costume is insane."

"Kids out here doing the most accurate cosplay of the year," wrote another onlooker. "The level of dedication to get all the mannerisms right is actually impressive."
