Love Island star Charleen Murphy has opened up about the backlash she got after being compared to Molly-Mae Hague.
Earlier this week on Thursday (16 July), Charleen joined Capital XTRA to reflect on her time in the villa.
During the chat, she revealed that fellow former Love Islander Molly-Mae checked in on her after a viral comparison sparked an avalanche of backlash from cruel trolls online.
"There was a meme of me and my ex-boyfriend going around on Twitter. I don’t know if you saw it, but it was like Molly June and Tom Angry," Charleen explained.

"But it was a picture of us, and it was like a dupe version."

The Dublin-based influencer continued: "So that went viral on Twitter, and I ended up getting so much hate over it because then I guess it gets the wrong side and it gets to the weird men saying horrible stuff.
"And she [Molly-Mae] texted me and was like 'I hope you’re okay, don’t mind them', and I was like that is so nice of her to do. […] I love her; I think she’s a queen."
Charleen added that people have always said that she and Molly-Mae 'look a little bit similar', before outlining: "Not so much now but when I had blonder hair and people always compared the two of us.
"So maybe it is a bit of that as well. But yeah, I think it’s a lovely compliment to get, but it’s definitely pressure because she’s iconic and I’m like 'Oh God, I'm just from Dublin'."

Elsewhere during the interview, Charleen opened up about her 'valid crash out' after feeling 'disrespected' by Kav, who is coupled up with Jasmine, on Love Island.
"I think me and Kav’s breakup was really understanding. I was completely fine with that, and that wasn’t the problem," she stated.
"The problem was literally the very next day them going to the hideaway, and I still stand by that I was annoyed about that.
"I think it was right in my face, and people have said, 'Okay, they could have kissed in your face though. Was it not better to go there?' But I think with the hideaway you don’t know what goes on, and that is what the problem is with it."
The reality TV star carried on: "So it was like an amalgamation of all my feelings coming together at the time and my frustration for the whole situation.
"Feeling disrespected, feeling upset, feeling embarrassed, and I think it was just everything at once."
Charleen resolved: "I feel like my mini crash out was valid, and I wish I crashed out more."
