Love Island stars Molly Smith and Tom Clare’s friend reveals why police really turned up to wedding
It’s finally been revealed why the police were at Molly Smith and Tom Clare’s wedding over the weekend, after a photo of their fellow Love Island pal Casey O’Gorman speaking to an officer went viral.
Molly, 32, and Tom, 26, tied the knot at a civil courthouse ceremony in Stockport last month, before jetting off to Mallorca with their friends and family for a bigger bash.
The pair, who met in the Love Island: All Stars villa in January 2024, said ‘I do’ at a stunning clifftop venue, Son Marroig, on Saturday (22 August).
Following the picturesque ceremony, the newlyweds celebrated at the Suculenta Port de Sóller restaurant on the harbour.

However, their pal Mitchel Taylor raised eyebrows when he shared a snap to social media of members of the Spanish Civil Guard giving Tom’s best man, Casey, and Tom’s other close friend, racing driver Seb Melrose, a telling off.
This, of course, sent the social media rumours wild, but now, Seb himself has revealed what really happened - and it’s nothing too dramatic, thankfully.
Referencing a news article, he said in a TikTok video: “The police came because yes, we all jumped in the port to celebrate Tom and Molly’s marriage.
“That was fun. Anyway, none of us realised that in Spain, apparently that’s not allowed in the port specifically.”
He recalled: “So anyway, the police arrived, gave us a warning to say, ‘please don’t do it again because your lives are basically in danger if a boat comes’.
“It made complete sense. But we didn’t do it again; the police stayed around, they loved us, had a laugh with us, and we were able to continue our celebrations.”
Making sure to shut down the misconceptions, he affirmed: “So the police didn’t come because we were too drunk; it was the start of the day anyway.”
He added: “We were all okay and this was just a little slap on the wrist. But regardless of all, they were lovely people. Thank you for being so respectful.”
Meanwhile, a source also told The Sun: “Molly and Tom’s guests were having a great time, people were downing beer, and Casey was keeping everyone in the party mood.
“At one point Casey decided to jump into the port next to the restaurant, which is forbidden.
“The police arrived to give him a telling off and told him where he was allowed to swim.”
The ‘slap on the wrist’ didn’t stop the pair from having a good time though, and Molly and Tom took to Instagram on Monday (24 August) to share a carousel of images from their big day.
They wrote in the caption: “The best day of our lives,” alongside a love heart emoji.
Like a lot of weddings nowadays, it spanned the week, including a pre-wedding boat party and a white party the day after they tied the knot.
The big day was full of Love Island stars, with fellow All Stars cast members Joshua Ritchie and Sophie Piper in attendance, who also began dating on the series, as well as Mitch and his girlfriend Hayley Griffin.
