It's only inevitable that a Golden Globes host roasts their celebrity audience.
The likes of Nikki Glaser took on the role of host of the awards evening for the second year in a row and, let's just say, she didn't hold back when it came to delivering jabs to the A-listers in the crowd as well as the Hollywood industry in general.
For starters, we were only minutes in before she joked about the Jeffrey Epstein files and delivered a Leonardo DiCaprio jab about his dating history, but there was one particularly 'brutal' joke that was cut from the opening monologue, which has since sparked major backlash.

The Golden Globes joke centered around none other than Sydney Sweeney and one of her latest movies, Christy, which hit cinemas back in November.
Christy is a biographical sports drama film which chronicles the rise of former professional boxer Christy Martin (played by Sweeney) to become America's best-known female boxer in the 1990s. It also tells the story of how her coach-turned-husband attempted to murder her in 2010.
The flick ended up being a historic box office flop, given that it reportedly opened to just $1.3 million (£989,814), per Attitude, marking it as one of the worst cinematic openings ever recorded for a queer film.
It reportedly had a $15 million budget.

Following the Golden Globes on Sunday (11 January), Glaser appeared on The Howard Stern Show to reveal the jokes that didn't make the cut.

According to the comedian, the joke read as follows: "Tonight is a night of celebration, but we can’t ignore that it’s a weird time in Hollywood.
"You know, people just aren’t going to the theatres to see things. If you don’t believe me, there was a movie this year where Sydney Sweeney played a lesbian who just bounced around in tiny shorts for two hours and it made $14."

After catching light of the quip, fans rushed to social media to share their thoughts as one X user penned: "Ouch, that's a pretty brutal joke! I wonder if Sydney Sweeney has responded to it yet."
"This one didn’t quite land. There are many things about Sydney Sweeney that make good material for award jokes, but this one doesn’t cut it," slammed a second.
And a third chimed in: "Regardless of what you feel about Sydney Sweeney, relegating a movie about domestic violence to a movie about a 'lesbian bouncing around in tiny shorts' is just terrible."
