Love Island's Tasha and Andrew explain sweet meaning behind their matching tattoos

Love Island's Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page have revealed the meaning behind their matching tattoos.

The couple shared their matching rose tattoos on their Instagram accounts today, 31 August.

Getting inked at The London Social Tattoo studio last Sunday, 28 August, Tasha had her rose placed behind her ear while Andrew's was on his hand.

The couple, who came fourth on this year's Love Island, were quick to thank the studio, with Tasha writing: "Thank you so much for my tattoo, I’m in love with it."

And, answering fans' questions on Tasha's YouTube channel, Andrew explained the reason behind the tattoo: "When we were in the villa we were talking about what we’d want, not our final date, but what we’d like a date in.

"Tasha actually said, ‘I would love a hotel room where you come in, and there’s loads and loads of roses,’ and this was before our date."

Fans of the series will know that the pair did, in fact, get their date full of roses, and while they weren't in a hotel room, they did have some pretty spectacular beach views.

"Obviously, our date happened, and we had literally thousands of roses, and it was kind of like a sign, we were literally talking about this," Andrew said.

So, the rose sign 'became a thing' in their relationship, and they decided to honour that with matching tattoos.

Andrew affirmed that the symbol was, and continues to be, an important part of their relationship: "I think the rose is just the staple of our relationship. I think every relationship has something that’s meaningful to them, and I think that’s what the rose is for me and you."

For anyone asking why they didn't just buy roses for each other instead, Andrew did – gifting Tasha 100 for her birthday.

He even wrote a sweet birthday message, saying: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY... Tasha Amber Ghouri happy birthday, you honestly deserve the world and I feel like the luckiest lad in the world to be celebrating it with you.

"⁣I’m so proud of everything you’ve achieved in such a short space of time. You really are SO special and if I’m honest my inspiration. Tonight we celebrate you being you which if you didn’t know is the most beautiful, caring and loving girl on the planet. ⁣

"⁣Hope you have the best day/night or whatever I love you with my whole heart @tashaghouri."

And, now they have matching tattoos to go along with Tasha's present.
