Rare Photos Give Glimpse Into Lilibet's First Birthday Party In Windsor

Lilibet's birthday party sounded precious.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle celebrated their daughter Lilibet's first birthday over the weekend, during her first ever visit to the UK for the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Royal fans were thrilled on Monday evening when photographer Misan Harriman shared a collection of photos from the precious party, which held at Frogmore Cottage, Windsor.

Friends of Megan and Harry have since shared some sweet details from the intimate family celebration.

Harry and Megan travelled to the UK last week with Lilibet and her older brother Archie, 3, to celebrate the Jubilee weekend before Lili's first birthday.

After the couple made an appearance at St Paul's Cathedral on Friday (3 June) for the special Jubilee Thanksgiving service, they made plans to celebrate Lilibet's first birthday in style on Saturday (4 June).

Fans were delighted when the photos from Lilibet's party first dropped, and were soon treated to further details from royal author and friend of the Sussexes Omid Scobie.

The Finding Freedom author spoke to some sources who attended the tot's birthday celebration, who described the affair as an "intimate backyard picnic".

He also confirmed that baker Claire Ptak, who also made the couple's wedding cake back in 2018, had baked a special order for Lilibet's party, which was attended by close friends and family.

Another source close to the couple spoke to The Sun about the private celebration, describing it as a "lovely do" that had "everything you’d expect from a child’s birthday party".

They added: "The idea was for it to be very relaxed and casual, with people free to pop in and out as they wished.

“It was a nice opportunity for the other royal children to meet Lilibet for the first time. And as her first birthday is such a milestone, there was lots of discussion ahead of time about the presents that she would be given on the day."

While some of Lilibet's cousins did get to stop by the party, Prince William and Kate Middleton's three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis were unable to attend, spending the day with their parents at the official Jubilee Party at the Palace.

Meanwhile, fans of the Sussexes flooded the family with birthday wishes and made a staggering number of donations amounting to more than $100,000 to World Central Kitchen in Lilibet's honour.

Omid Scobie tweeted that the couple "remain incredibly touched by the countless birthday wishes for their daughter" and were "amazed" to learn of the donations made to the non-profit organisation from supporters around the world.

The Jubilee weekend marked Lilibet's first ever visit to the UK. Unlike her older brother Archie who was born in Portland Hospital, London, Lilibet was born in Santa Barbara Hospital, California, following the Sussexes official move to the US.
