Station Eleven Fans Have One Complaint About New HBO Series

Station Eleven Fans Have One Complaint About New HBO Series

We'll never look at it the same.

Viewers who have been tuning into the brand new HBO Max mini-series Station Eleven all have the same complaint about the show - and we have the pandemic to blame.

The series, based on the bestselling novel of the same name, takes place in a dystopian future and follows the survivors of a deadly flu that devastated the world as they try to rebuild society.

While many fans are already describing Station Eleven as one of the best shows of the year, a lot of viewers are - understandably - finding it hard to watch the pandemic-inspired series at the moment.

Most viewers have noticed one flaw in Station Eleven.

Given our own experience with devastating pandemics over the past two years, it's fair to say that by now we know a thing or two about hygiene and public health protocols.

That's why so many viewers admitted to feeling uncomfortable while watching the opening episodes of Station Eleven, as they watched characters display poor face mask etiquette.

Yes, something as simple as forgetting to wear a mask now has the potential to ruin an entire series - a flaw that we probably never would have noticed back when the book was first published in 2014.

One viewer joked that the pandemic has "even ruined pandemic content" for her after she caught herself critiquing characters' health and safety responses on the show.

Another tweeted: "My first reaction to watching #StationEleven: WEAR A MASK."

One fan of the series wrote: "Extremely stressed by the poor mask protocol/ lack of masks in general in the first ep of Station Eleven. This neurosis will be with me for the rest of my life, I fear."

Another added: "I assumed Station Eleven the TV show would take liberties with the plot but I did not assume that they would be taking liberties with the mask protocol in the hospital in episode one."

If you think you can get past poor pandemic protocols, Station Eleven is definitely one to watch.

Viewers who have caught the first few episodes of the series are raving about it already.

The ten-part series stars Mackenzie Davis (Happiest Season), Himesh Patel (Yesterday), and Daniel Zovatto (Penny Dreadful).
