Kate Winslet shares Eminem's X-rated request during encounter

Kate Winslet treated viewers of The Graham Norton Show to a wild story she'd 'never told before' over the weekend - and it certainly was a shocker.

On Friday (5 December), the Titanic actress joined a celebrity line-up of former Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern, British comedian Alan Carr and American comic and writer Seth Meyers on the iconic red sofa.

The group were chatting about Saturday Night Live, the show that launched Meyers into fame, when he recalled that at one point, Kate guest hosted during his stint.

This prompted the award-winning actress to recall exactly what went down, including an awkward and unexpected encounter with rapper Eminem.

She explained: "Can I just say, when I was on it was absolutely terrifying. Am I allowed to quickly tell the story even though this is totally unplanned?"

After getting an enthusiastic yes from host Norton, she recalled how for her 2004 appearance on the show, in which Eminem was the musical guest, she had to learn a whole song and dance with just 24 hours notice.

Not to mention it took place a week after Ashlee Simpson's infamous SNL lip-sync incident, where the musical guest suffered technical problems.

Winslet explained: "When I was on, it was the week after Ashlee Simpson was done for lip-syncing. I'm then on with Eminem. I was doing publicity for a film called Finding Neverland at the time and Johnny Depp and I had to miss the Wednesday rehearsal because we had to go to Chicago and talk to Oprah.

"And I'm thinking 'oh my God, what's the opening monologue going to be?' I get to Wednesday night, come back from the Oprah thing. Still, they're like 'we're just trying to figure it out'.

"Please tell me. It's a couple of days away, just what are you gonna have me do? The next day I go in, and they're, like, 'Can you sing?'"

She responded with: "A little, ish, kind of," to which they then asked: "Do you dance? Do you tap dance?," and again, she said yes.

They reportedly said that was 'perfect' but neglected to tell her what she'd be doing and said they'd 'get back to her' on what the opening monologue would be.

"I'm like 'oh my God, now what's happening to me?' This was absolutely terrible. They gave me 24 hours to learn [it]. I'm tap dancing and singing fully live the week after the whole Ashlee Simpson thing," she recalled.

Then, she spun off into another, and even more surprising story, regarding Eminem.

Winslet said: "And also I have to say something else and this is a story I've never ever told. Eminem asked me to shave his bottom."

The audience erupted into laughter to which Norton asked: "Was it with a handheld razor?"

The actress recalled: "Well, he did, he said, 'would you shave my butt?', and I said 'I'm sorry I don't do personal grooming', like, what?"

She hilariously added: "I'm not gonna go with a Bic and go and get your crack, love. Honestly, never told that story before ever in my life in public. There you go."
