You Fans Are Convinced Season Three Ending Is Linked To Gossip Girl

XOXO: Fans of the hit Netflix series are already delving into conspiracy theories, linking Joe Goldberg to Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl.

This article contains spoilers for You Season Three.

Fans of the hit Netflix series are already delving into conspiracy theories after season three dropped on 15th October.

True Penn Badgely fans will know that the unwitting heartthrob was a mainstay on Gossip Girl as well as the binge-worthy You. But eagle-eyed viewers have started to wonder whether the two shows might be linked.

TikTok user Sydney te Wildt identified some creepy similarities between two scenes in particular, and viewers are shook to the core.

Watch the video below.

Sydney pointed out that Joe - or Dan, for all you Gossip Girl fans - can be seen in Paris at the end of You season three. The awkward walk comes courtesy of the fact that he's missing two of his toes, as pointed out by the TikTok user.

You know who else starred in scene where they had to limp around Paris? Ed Westwick, A.K.A. Chuck Bass from Gossip Girl. *Cue the X-Files theme*.

According to Sydney, Joe's closing scenes were "literally serving such insane Chuck Bass energy". The clip then switched to Chuck "limping around Paris" with a walking stick.

The TikToker commented that "obviously Joe is no Chuck Bass", before sharing a comparison photo of the two characters. But the show is, in their opinion, "trying to be Gossip Girl".

While Sydney's TikTok was a tongue-in-cheek insight into the two shows, some users took the opportunity to create some conspiracies of their own.

"My theory is that Dan went crazy and created this Joe persona," one user commented. "Dan literally talks like Joe in a You way," they went on to say.

Another fan theory was a little more detailed. "Dan got a divorce from Serena [van der Woodsen] which made him go crazy because he thought she was the one and fought for her for so long," they said.

While the differences may be small and... er, pretty tenuous, could a You / Gossip Girl crossover episode be on the cards at some point in the future?

We think we speak for everyone when we say: producers, please consider it!
