Hancock resigned as health secretary last year after shocking leaked CCTV footage showed him canoodling with his adviser Gina Coladengelo in his Whitehall office.
At the time the footage was filmed, on 6th May 2021, social gatherings indoors between people from different households were banned by law. Official guidance encouraged everyone to stay two metres apart, and the leaked video proved Hancock had not abided by these rules.
He has kept a fairly low profile since he resigned, although he was in the audience for Jesy Nelson's infamous performance of her single Boyz at the Jingle Bell Ball last year.

In a new interview, in which he wore a similar navy blue polo neck and jeans he wore to the Jingle Bell Ball, he defended his rule break by claiming he “fell in love”.
But Lorraine was not impressed and she had a few choice words to say about his response to leaked footage and his outfit.
After hearing her comments, viewers at home were left in tears of laughter and called for the TV presenter to win a BAFTA for her sassy swipe.
