A summer of romance, sneaking around on terraces, and an allegedly cursed yellow beanbag came to a close with the Love Island final last night.

Now, the final exact final voting figures have been revealed, and fans of the hit dating show can't believe it. Watch the moment Davide and Ekin-Su were crowned the winners:

Fans had already taken to Twitter to make their predictions on the stats.

One fan tweeted: "My take on the final result is it was probably a landslide like Jack & Dani's year. We'll see the voting breakdown and Ekinde will have gotten 80ish percent of the vote and the rest will have under 10% each."

While fans had speculated that the show was a 'fix' as the results were announced yesterday (August 1), Ekin-Su and Davide - aka the Italian stallion and the Turkish delight - won by a landslide 63.69% of the vote.

It looks like this particular fan largely got it right as Planet Radio revealed ITV's report that runners up Luca and Gemma received just 14.47% of the vote.

Meanwhile, the third place couple Indiyah and Dami received 11.77% of the vote and Tasha and Andrew, who placed fourth, received 10.07% of the vote.

Reacting to the landslide win for Ekin-Su and Davide, one fan wrote: "Landslide for Ekinde #LoveIsland SIXTY PERCENT BABY [sic]."

"Just seen that Ekin-Su & Davide had almost 65 percent of the public votes," wrote a second fan. "It's mad to think Luca & Gemma with their 14% weren’t even close."

"63 v 14 percent??? That's wild [sic]," wrote a third while a fourth added: "I'm a lot more at ease after seeing these numbers."

A fifth remarked: "Luca gonna be fuming at such a low percentage god help poor Gemma having to deal with his tantrum [sic]."

As reported by The Mirror, Ekin-Su now has a glittering career ahead of her - and so too does Gemma despite coming in second place.

An insider told the news outlet: "Ekin-Su and Gemma have been the stand-out stars in terms of marketability. Ekin-Su is not only beautiful, but she also has a captivating personality.

"Gemma has such a wise head on her shoulders. With the Owen name, she already has a big profile which brands want to tap into. And her own swimwear brand, OG Beachwear, will be sure to get a big boost."

Although reality TV fans will be sad to bid farewell to Love Island, for now, the ending of the show literally coincided with the announcement that Big Brother is returning.
