The creators behind classic horror films like The Ring, The Grudge, and It are back with brand new horror Barbarian.

The film, which stars Bill Skarsgard, Justin Long, and Georgina Campbell, promises to be just as eerie and unsettling as the producer's earlier films.

In a new teaser trailer, the cast and crew rave about just how creepy audiences can expect the film to be.

Barbarian tells the story of a young woman named Tess who books a rental home in Detroit while she's in town for a job interview.

But when she arrives late at night, she discovers that the house is double booked and a strange man, Keith, is already staying there.

Against her better judgement, she decides to spend the evening, but soon discovers that there’s a lot more to fear than just an unexpected house guest.

From 20th Century Studios, the project promises to be 'the scariest movie of the year', and judging by that trailer, it's easy to see why.

Mostly, that's down to lead actor Bill Skarsgard, who most will remember as Pennywise the Dancing Clown from the films It and It: Chapter Two, based on the Steven King novel.

As producer Roy Lee puts it: "What's good about Bill is that, he can be a very charming nice guy, or he can be a villain and the audience may not know what type of person he is."

The film has already seen a lot of success in the box office, with a score of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes, and 79% on Metascore.

Online, horror fans are already raving about the film.

"I said it once and I’ll say it again", tweeted one viewer. "#Barbarian was the most innovative, unpredictable horror I’ve seen in a very long time. No doubt a must watch."

Another commented: At first glance #Barbarian feels like it's going to be a by the books horror movie and then about half way through it totally flips and becomes one of the more unique horror movies you'll ever see. If you're into horror, I would highly recommend seeing this movie."

A third described the film as 'amazingly terrifying', writing: "Every scene was just a new sucker punch that I was severely unprepared for. If you’re going to see it, fair warning: You are not gonna be ready for this. And a reminder, lock your doors at night everyone. Stay safe."

Sounds like a winner to us!
