James Corden, the co-creator and writer of the beloved sitcom Gavin & Stacey, has shared the first look of the forthcoming Christmas special and fans are all saying the same thing.

Corden will reprise his iconic role as Smithy, with co-stars Ruth Jones, Joanna Page, Mathew Horne and James Corden all returning to our screens.

Sharing a snap on Instagram, Corden captioned the shot: "Day 1. Here we go x."

It showed a van with the words "SMITHY'S. If your husband won't do it - I will.

It then gave a mobile phone number.

Everybody in the comments had the same thoughts.

One person wrote: "Anyone tried callin this number????"

Another replied: "Yeah says sorry you've not been given access to this service."

A third person said: "How many people are ringing that number now?!"

The last episode of Gavin & Stacey aired in 2019 and saw Nessa (Jones) getting down on one knee to propose to the father of her child, Smithy.

Safe to say fans can't wait to tune in at Christmas and see how he responded to the big question.
