If your idea of romance is proposing with an assortment of Chicken McNuggets then you're not alone - after a man surprised his wife-to-be with a ring hiding in a box of the McDonald's staple.
An American woman shared the kooky engagement story in the Facebook group 'That's It, I'm Proposal Shaming', which left some scratching their heads, but mainly fellow members felt inspired
She began: "I've laughed at so many proposals with the rest of you all. It's time I give back. I present you with my chicken nugget proposal."

The Facebook user explained how her husband decided on a whim to get down on bended knee and headed to Walmart to pick out a ring with the help of her best friend while she napped.
"My husband, bless his heart, decided on a whim that he wanted to get me a ring and present in the cutest way that he could possibly think of in a span of 20 minutes, " she continued.
"I was taking a nap when he left, where he went to Walmart and then McDonald's while on the phone with my best friend to receive her aid in this feat and when he arrived and woke me up, I was still extremely sleep. But he knew I couldn't resist nugs.
Still dozy from her mid-afternoon slumber, the woman, who wasn't expecting the proposal, was left bewildered by the black box found inside - of which she thought was sauce to go with the fast food favourite - until she opened it up and found a sparkling ring.
She added: "I opened the box and saw the black box inside (closed then) and I said, 'what the f**k kind of sauce is this?'
"And then opened the box and went, 'Oh. Oh my god. Is that an engagement ring?' And the rest is history."

While proposing with chicken nugs may not be your idea of the perfect proposal, many in the social media group commended her husband on his unique idea, calling him "adorable".
Commenting under the post, one penned: "Okay but this is low key funny and cute as f**k."
"I love this so much," another shared.
A third replied: "Maybe I just have low standards but literally all I need is for the ring itself not to touch any food. This is perfect."

You see, love doesn't have to cost a thing, well no more than a box of chicken nuggets anyway.
