Pancake Cereal Is The Delicious New Breakfast Trend You Need To Try

Step away from the banana bread, there's a new sweet treat for you to rustle up this weekend.

Say hello to 'pancake cereal' - the new food trend that makes it acceptable to eat an entire bowl full of mini pancakes, smothered in whatever topping you fancy.

First created by foodie @thenaughtyfork on Instagram, the delicious idea consists of teeny tiny pancakes, fried in butter and served in a bowl just like cereal.

All you need to do to recreate the delicious breakfast option is mix up your batter as normal, before adding to a hot pan in tiny circles.

Cook on one side, before adding a little butter and flipping to cook the underneath. Once they're cooked through, simply toss into your favourite cereal bowl.

Feel free to add your favourite topping (butter and maple syrup is always a winner) or, you could make it even more indulgent by topping with M&Ms (or whatever choccie treat you fancy) just like @thenaughtyfork.

Then, all that's left to do is gobble it up as if it really were a bowl of cereal.

And it seems other foodies have started trying out the mouthwatering trend too, with one person smothering their bowl of pancakes in syrup *and* milk.

If you want to serve up an extra indulgent bowl of pancake cereal, you could even add ingredients into the pancake mix, such as chocolate chips or marshmallows.

One person added peanut butter and cocoa powder to their pancake batter to make a delicious nutty chocolate version.

The best part is it's *so* easy to recreate and you can pair it with whatever toppings you have in the house. It's even delicious with a simple squeeze of lemon and a dash of sugar.

We know what we're having for brekky tomorrow...
