Dax Shepard is facing backlash from fans for revealing the identity of a celebrity he 'almost fought' in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA).
Speaking on the latest episode of his Armchair Expert podcast, which saw Brad Pitt as the guest, the 50-year-old Parenthood star recalled an anecdote between himself and a fellow actor in which they nearly came to blows.
Interestingly enough, said actor even appeared on Shepard's podcast just last June, where they both reflected and laughed over the whole thing as friends - despite admitting that they did, in fact, previously 'hate' one another.

The celebrity in question is none other than Grey's Anatomy star, Eric Dane.
"Eric Dane, who I now f--king love, I have such a sweetness for him," Shepard told Pitt. "But when we first were around each other, it was not good. He threatened a dude in the meeting, and I said, 'Let's go, motherf*cker.'"
"He goes, 'If you hit that timer again, I'm gonna f*cking throw you in that candle'.

"And I go, 'That's it, motherf*cker. Let's go. Stand up, let's go outside.' He stands up, we go outside and I'm about to beat the f*ck out of him - at an AA meeting, where we're coming for healing and understanding."
While it sounds like it got pretty heated at the time, it appears that things smoothed themselves out in the end.
Shepard went on: "But what's great is, we're friends now and we told that story on the podcast and it's quite a hilarious beginning for us, and now I love him."
While it's clear both Shepard and Dane, who was diagnosed with ALS in April of this year, have moved past the whole ordeal, other fans don't seem to be so sure, as one Instagram user hit out: "I know they’re friends but hopefully Eric Dane was okay with him sharing that story. It’s called AA for a reason…"

"What’s the point of anonymity again? Someone is a snitch!" slammed another.
And a final Instagram user echoed: "So much for anonymous huh."
Speaking on last June's episode about the situation, Dane opened up about how he saw things.

"I was not in the best space, let's just say that," the Euphoria star said at the time. "I may not have even been sober at the time. So we’re outside and Dax is like, 'What the f*ck was that about, man?' And just as I'm about to open my mouth, our sponsor comes out and gets in between the middle of us."
Eventually, the whole drama resulted in Shepard 'falling in love' with Dane's personality and honesty, with the former admitting that they were both working through the 'same bag of bullsh*t' at the time.
"You acknowledged something I said in your chair and you actually said to the group, 'You know, I hated you for so long, but I've come to really love you,'" Dane said to Shepard.
"And I think I might've returned the favour in the middle of the room."
