Tom Cruise is the talk of the town at the moment - but not because his latest instalment in the Mission Impossible film franchise hits cinemas today (21 May), but because of the weird way he scrans popcorn.
The 62-year-old Hollywood A-lister, who is famed for doing his own stunts, stars alongside the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Simon Pegg and Hayley Atwell in the nearly three-hour-long Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.
However, it's not just his award-winning performance in the hit action flick people are raving about online as Cruise has left fans seriously 'freaked out' after they saw the, ahem, peculiar way he eats popcorn.

Cruise was spotted at a premiere holding a box of popcorn as he demonstrated his unique way of chomping down on the cinema go-to snack.

In a now viral clip on social media, he scooped up a handful of popcorn as he rattled it in his hands as if about to roll a dice before chucking it into his mouth - with a fair few kernels falling to the floor in the chaos of it all.
Cruise repeated the jerky motion a few more times, again, launching a handful of popcorn into his open-wide mouth all while making a right mess on the floor.

After watching the hilarious clip, one Twitter user confessed: "The way Tom Cruise eats popcorn is freaking me out."
"I’ve never seen another human being eat popcorn like Tom Cruise," joked a second while a third chimed in: "My favourite thing about any time a new Tom Cruise movie comes out is that all these photos and videos start coming out about how much he's weirdly and wildly obsessed with popcorn."
A fourth exclaimed: "But the way he throws popcorn into his mouth… it’s wild."
"He’s an extreme kind of guy, what do you expect?" defended a fifth while a sixth wondered: "Maybe we are all eating it the wrong way?"

A seventh declared: "Going to the cinema and eating my popcorn like that next time!"
And a final user added: "Brother this is standard-issue boomer popcorn consumption technique."
