Cheese and wine go hand-in-hand over the festive period - and thank the high heavens that Tesco has combined the dinner table staples this Christmas with their latest addition to the dairy aisle.

Tesco Finest's 'Create Your Own Drunken Cheese', which costs £3, gives customers the opportunity to create and personalise the perfect boozy centrepiece for any festive cheeseboard.

The 200g extra creamy white Stilton with candied orange peel has been designed to be submerged in 80ml of your favourite tipple - you know we're talking Prosecco - to enhance its soft citrus notes.

It sounds absolutely delish.

Once the creamy Long Clawson Dairy White Stilton and booze of your choosing has been infused for 24 hours, the cheese can be removed from its special pot.

A word to the wise, make sure to leave the cheese to dry for half an hour before you start chowing down on it - just so it's soaked up all the extra booze.

Speaking of the festive treat, Emma Hawkins, Product Development Manager, shared: "Knowing that many of our customers enjoy cheese at Christmas, we wanted to put a creative twist on a classic product this year.

"Whether hosting a party or entertaining a smaller gathering of family and friends, the Tesco Finest Create Your Own Drunken Cheese is the perfect way to enjoy two festive favourites in one delicious bite."

The retailer recently sent our tastebuds into a frenzy when they unveiled new deep-fried Brussel's sprout bites as part of their festive menu.

While we understand not everyone is a fan of the humble festive sprout, you surely couldn't deny them while covered in a light, crispy fried batter.

The new Christmas addition, which is vegetarian-friendly, costs a mere £3 for 240g worth of Brussel's-goodness and are even more delicious when accompanied with a fruity cranberry dip.

The Brussel's sprouts bites, which dropped in stores and online last Monday, also feature alongside mozzarella and pesto arancini balls, £3.

New for the 2019 festive season, the tasty Italian-style risotto balls are made from mozzarella and pesto coated in crunchy parsley breadcrumbs - sounding all sorts of delicious.

We have to stop before we drool onto our keyboards.
