Fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex refused to allow accusations of 'outfit re-wearing' to ruin their recent anniversary celebrations.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tied the knot at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle eight years ago today (19 May) after two years of dating.

Commemorating the milestone this week, 44-year-old Meghan shared a dazzling array of never-before-seen images from their fun-fuelled reception.

In the sweet snaps, she and Harry, 41, could be seen dancing together, with huge, gleaming smiles plastered on their faces.

For the formal ceremony, the former Suits actress famously sported a chic, bateau-neckline gown designed by ex-Givenchy artistic director Clare Waight Keller, which came complete with classic three-quarter sleeves, a triple silk organza underskirt and an elongated veil.

Ahead of the post-wedding festivities, Meghan changed into a second dress - a silk Stella McCartney number that would give her the freedom to bust a move or two on the dance floor.

It was this gown she could be seen wearing in her and Harry's latest anniversary snaps.

Sadly, however, the couple's special day may have been tainted by a number of stubborn social media trolls, who accused her of recently re-wearing her second wedding dress in new footage from her lifestyle brand, As Ever.

The footage in question shows Meghan wearing a noticeably different ivory halter-neck dress while enjoying afternoon tea at her Montecito, California, home.

"Welcome to the World of As Ever," the clip was captioned. "What began with fruit from Meghan's garden, simmered into preserves in her home kitchen, has inspired our curated collections to bring surprise and delight to your everyday."

As we say, some critics were seemingly unable to spot the difference between the gown worn by the mother-of-two in her latest video appearance and the outfit she wore for her wedding reception.

This was especially the case after GB News published an article with the headline, 'Meghan Markle rewears second wedding dress to promote lifestyle brand'.

One social media user hit out in response: "I'm glad to see that the wardrobe which King Charles' money funded is being re-worn."

Another questioned, ‘Who paid for it?’, before suggesting: “British taxpayers!! #markleisagrifter."

Thankfully, however, a number of Meghan's fans rushed to her defence, emphasising the differences between the two numbers.

One X user correctly pointed out: "They are two completely different dresses."

"That is not the Stella McCartney dress," another suggested. "I think that dress is the one she wore to the Pat Tilman Awards."

A third agreed: "I think you're right...the armholes are different and so is the back."

"My goodness, are you that stupid? There are 2 different dresses ffs - if you're going to print a story, state facts," a fourth implored. "Oh, I forgot that’s not something you lot do when it comes to Meghan."

Another fan added: "This is not her wedding reception dress, it's similar."
