Meghan Markle and Prince Harry defended after people highlight major issue with their children

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex sparked quite the debate after sharing an autumnal clip on Instagram

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have come under fire for an aspect of their parenting style this week, spurring several fans to rush to their defence.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend (26 Oct), Meghan shared a super-cute clip of her family relishing the brisk autumn weather with a walk around their local pumpkin patch.

In the video, the 44-year-old is joined by husband, Prince Harry, their seven-year-old son, Prince Archie, and daughter, Princess Lilibet, four.

It kicks off with a camera pan of the plush orange field, as well as a scarecrow sitting amongst the sea of seasonal fruit and veg. In another section of the video, Archie is shown running through a corn field, whilst a third shows Meghan wheeling a wheelbarrow of pumpkins beside Harry, 41.

Another moment shows Lilibet riding inside the wagon, alongside their collection of jack-o'-lanterns-to-be.

As we say, however, a horde of online trolls have since taken it upon themselves to condemn the couple in the comments of PEOPLE Magazine's coverage of their latest upload, claiming the children appear to be dressed for a completely different climate than their parents.

For reference, former Suits actress Meghan can be seen wearing a taupe padded coat, simple leggings and wellington boots, whilst Harry dons a khaki hoodie, casual straight-leg jeans and a cap.

Whilst Archie begins the video wearing a padded jacket similar to his mother's, he is later seen taking it off and wearing a simple short-sleeved t-shirt. Similarly, Lilibet wears what appears to be a baby-pink long-sleeve t-shirt and matching leggings.

"Why are they all dressed like it is winter?" one person asked. "It was 76°F in Montecito when they took this video. Funny how it is a PUBLIC pumpkin patch on a weekend, days before Halloween, Friday, yet they are the only ones there!"

Another added: "Strange that both parents are dressed warmly w/coat, boots, hoodie & both children are dressed for much warmer weather - bare arms & summer outfit & will someone please brush that little girls hair * fix it cute???"

A third continued: "The boy hasn't got a jacket on, it's just a long sleeve sweater, and the girl is in a thin long sleeve top with leggings, that are hardly warm clothes, although she is still wearing a diaper or pull-ups, as is evident with the size and shape of her bottom.

"It seems that Harry and Megan have made an attempt to try to look like a happy family outing, yet there's no sign of enthusiasm from either parent in the photo of the four of them."

It didn't take long, though, for fans of the couple to jump to their defence, with one pointing out in response: "The boy has on a jacket in the first photo and the daughter has long sleeves in one picture. Not sure how you missed that."

Another simply hit back: "Untruth, please be kind."

A third made a passionate point, adding: "Two public figures at a pumpkin patch with their kids is literally the most normal thing for People Magazine to show in October.

The same user added: "If you don’t have an issue with a Real Housewife, or your favorite actor, or a politician and their family, being photographed in public, but you take issue with this family, you need to sit down and think about your irrational hatred for a family that you would click on the article just to sht-post.

"Whyyyyy?"
