Meghan Markle reveals daughter Lilibet's face in rare birthday post

Prince Harry and Meghan's daughter Lilibet was born on 4 June 2021

Happy birthday, Princess Lilibet!

That's right - the youngest of the Sussex's children is celebrating her fourth birthday today, and mum Meghan Markle celebrated the major milestone by uploading a heartwarming image of her daughter to Instagram.

And like every social media snap that the Duchess uploads, Lilibet's special birthday tribute has set tongues wagging across the globe.

"Happy birthday to our beautiful girl!" she wrote in the caption.

"Four years ago today she came into our lives - and each day is brighter and better because of it."

Meghan went on to write: "Thanks to all of those sending love and celebrating her special day!"

The Duchess of Sussex shared a gorgeous black and white snap where she's cradling her little girl on what looks like a boat.

The glimpse of Lilibet's face is the most the public have ever seen of Harry and Meghan's second-born, as she's largely been kept out of the limelight since her birth in 2021.

Meghan also sweetly included a picture of the day Lilibet was born, also in black and white.

The Duchess has been sharing frequent insights into she and Prince Harry's picture perfect family life since 1 January, when she returned to social media following a four-year break.

In doing so, however, Meghan has caused ceaseless stirs amid critical online communities that seem committed to picking up on and pointing out her every alleged mistake - hence why she's sadly had to turn off her comments.

Earlier this month, for example, a Mother's Day post descended into chaos, with trolls and conspiracy theorists accusing Meghan of photoshopping her son's toes.

The same image also sparked conspiracy theories among others, who claimed the apparent darkening of the children's hair indicated they weren't the 'real' Archie and Lilibet after all.

"Where is Archie’s and Lili’s red hair this week Meghan Markle?" hit out one internet troll who clearly was perplexed by the concept of hair changing colour on camera depending on whether you're in the shade or the beaming sun.

A second chimed in: "Her hair changed colour."

"Different hair colour too," quipped a third, while a fourth echoed: "Their hair is dark now too."

And another questioned: "And what about Archie’s hair?"

"Coarse, thick, curly and red… to black and dead straight."

And elsewhere, Meghan's latest upload has set tongues wagging, with some pointing out that the child's legs appear considerably shorter that they did in her Mother's Day snap.

The mother-of-two, 43, and Prince Harry, 40, tied the knot in 2018 before welcoming their first child Prince Archie, now six, a year later, before their daughter came along.

And for those who aren't up to speed, in 2020 the couple stepped back from their Royal duties and moved to California - Meghan's home state.

The birthday girl's full name is Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor, which is a homage to more than one member of the family.

Of course, the middle name Diana is a tribute to Harry's late mother Princess Diana, who tragically died when he was just 12 years old.

Meanwhile, Lilibet is actually a nickname that the late Queen Elizabeth was called by her close friends and family.
