Meghan Markle has always stunned in her outfits, but did you know about the time she broke rules with one for a very special event?
From high-class blouses to structured girl-boss dresses, Meghan is the go-to for fashion tips for women all over the world.
But while we all watch and take notes, one of her fashion moments has been totally forgotten by us.

However, the outfit in question may have caused a stir behind the golden Buckingham Palace gates.
Never one to stick to the strict royal style rules, it was for her engagement announcement that Meghan took bending the rules to a whole new level. Instead, she shattered them.

The pair's official engagement portrait saw Prince Harry wearing a fitted suit and Meghan wearing a sheer dress.

The dress was embellished with gold leaves that cover her chest and shoulders, and the skirt pooled out in a lovely, ruffled number.
Designed by Ralph & Russo and said to cost $75,000, the risqué element of the sheer fabric probably wouldn’t go down well if it was worn at a prim and proper event, with many publications at the time that it broke a Royal fashion rule against dresses with sheer elements. But it’s gorgeous regardless.
People gushed about how beautiful she looked when the image was shared on social media.
One person wrote: “They are so adorable! Their body language speaks volumes! Congrats you two!”

Another shared: “I am old enough to have been around when Prince Harry was born and I've always had a special place in my heart for Diana. Megan you have reignited a light inside Harry. I wish you both joy and happiness.”
Someone else commented: “A breath of fresh air Meghan. Breaking all the rules.. or Miss Independance.. A wow look at how in love and happy Harry is looking. Very relaxed Oozing with confidence.”

In another official engagement pic, the couple are underneath Harry's coat while Meghan wears a white knitted number.
Since leaving the Royal Family life, Meghan has sported various outfits that have been loved by many.
While on her Instagram posts, she typically wears denim washed jeans and a button-up shirt, when she was doing her royal engagements, she would be seen sporting pencil skirts, tailored blazers, structured dresses and more.
Meghan once explained that an item of her wardrobe made her realise just how much attention was focused on her following her engagement- a Strathberry bag.

The accessory had completely sold out online in just a matter of minutes after the duchess was seeing wearing it.
To her, this 'changed everything in terms of how I then looked at putting an outfit together'.
