Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor threatened with weapon whilst out on dog walk

A man has been arrested for possession of an offensive weapon close to Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor’s home on the Sandringham Estate on Wednesday evening (6 May), Norfolk Police said, following reports the former prince had been threatened while walking his dogs.

Norfolk Police told Tyla in a statement: "Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village.

"Officers attended, and the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon. He was taken to King’s Lynn Police Investigation Centre for questioning and remains in custody."

Yesterday's incident comes after the former Duke of York was stripped of his remaining royal titles due to his association with convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein late last year.

Andrew has previously faced allegations, which he strenuously denies, that he sexually assaulted a teenage Virginia Giuffre after she was trafficked by Epstein.

He later paid an unspecified sum to settle with Giuffre - reportedly £12 million. Giuffre died by suicide in April 2025, a woman he claims never to have met, to settle a civil sexual assault claim in 2022.
