United States President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has asked for a ceasefire and has taken to social media to issue a statement outlining that he'll only accept under one condition.
Taking to Truth Social earlier this afternoon (1 April), the 79-year-old Republican wrote: "Iran’s New Regime President, much less Radicalized and far more intelligent than his predecessors, has just asked the United States of America for a CEASEFIRE!
"We will consider when Hormuz Strait is open, free, and clear. Until then, we are blasting Iran into oblivion or, as they say, back to the Stone Ages!!! President DJT."
Trump did not mention the top official by name and it's important to note that Iran does not have a new president.

The attacks killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, triggering hundreds of retaliatory missiles and thousands of drones from Iran across the region.
Iran’s retaliatory strikes were targeted across the Gulf at American allies and bases, striking countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Over 3,000 people have been killed in Iran as the war continues.
Iran's Supreme Leader is Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of Ali Khamenei.
He has not appeared in public or in Iranian media since taking over earlier this month (8 March), the BBC reports.
Trump has previously claimed that he was 'either dead or in very bad shape, because no one has heard from him'.
Meanwhile, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations in Geneva said Khamenei had stayed out of public view due to 'security considerations'.
Iran has also previously denied Trump's claims, saying it is not involved in any talks to end the war.
Trump detailed 'blasting Iran into oblivion' in his latest update (Truth Social/@realDonaldTrump) Last Wednesday (25 March), Iran's state broadcaster Press TV cited reports from a 'senior political-security official' that Tehran had rejected a US proposal to end the current war, calling the conditions 'excessive'.
"The official with knowledge of the details of the proposal, speaking exclusively to Press TV, said Iran will not allow US President Donald Trump to dictate the timing of the war's end," the outlet reported.
While the outlet didn't identify the official or give a title, it says they stated: "Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met."

- A complete halt to 'aggression and assassinations' by the enemy
- The establishment of concrete mechanisms to ensure that the war is not reimposed on the Islamic Republic
- Guaranteed and clearly defined payment of war damages and reparations.
- The conclusion of the war across all fronts and for all resistance groups involved throughout the region
- Iran's exercise of sovereignty over the Strait of Hormuz is and will remain Iran's natural and legal right, and it constitutes a guarantee for the implementation of the other party's commitments, and must be recognised
Trump responded the following day (26 March), declaring on Truth Social: "The Iranian negotiators are very different and 'strange'.
"They are 'begging' us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only 'looking at our proposal'.
"WRONG!!! They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty! President DJT."
