United States President Donald Trump has issued his latest statement on the ongoing conflict in Iran after the Middle Eastern nation rejected his peace plan and laid out five conditions to end the war.
On Wednesday (25 March), Iran's state broadcaster Press TV cited reports from a 'senior political-security official' that Tehran had rejected a US proposal to end the current war, calling the conditions 'excessive'.
"The official with knowledge of the details of the proposal, speaking exclusively to Press TV, said Iran will not allow US President Donald Trump to dictate the timing of the war's end," the outlet reported.
While the outlet didn't identify the official or give a title, it says they stated: "Iran will end the war when it decides to do so and when its own conditions are met."

According to Press TV, the official outlined five conditions, including:
Trump has now issued a response to Iran's rejection of his 15-point peace plan, which include a 30-day ceasefire, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, limits on the range and number of Iran's missiles, Iran ending its support for regional proxies such as Hezbollah and Hamas, and a commitment for Iran to let the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitor its nuclear infrastructure, as reported by Al Jazeera.

Taking to Truth Social earlier this morning (26 March), the 79-year-old Republican declared: "The Iranian negotiators are very different and 'strange'.
"They are 'begging' us to make a deal, which they should be doing since they have been militarily obliterated, with zero chance of a comeback, and yet they publicly state that they are only 'looking at our proposal'.
"WRONG!!! They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty! President DJT."

Yesterday (25 March), Iran's Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, told state television that 'there are no negotiations underway'.
"In recent days, the American side has sent various messages through friendly countries," he said. "The fact that messages are sent and we respond with warnings or state our positions does not constitute negotiation or dialogue; it is an exchange of messages."
Late last month (28 February), the US and Israel launched a joint attack on Iran.
The attacks killed Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, triggering hundreds of retaliatory missiles and thousands of drones from Iran across the region.
Iran’s retaliatory strikes were targeted across the Gulf at American allies and bases, striking countries such as Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq.
Over 3,000 people have been killed in Iran as the war continues.
