Donald Trump has shared his new plans for Iran following the arrangement of a ceasefire ahead of his deadline.

Trump had previously warned that a 'whole civilisation will die tonight, never to be brought back again' if Iran did not come to an agreement before 8pm Washington time on Tuesday.

"I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalised minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS?

"We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World."

He finished by writing on Truth Social: "47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!"

A deal was then struck in the wake of his words for a two week ceasefire to allow negotiations, after Tehran agreed to allow safe passage for ships through the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil prices had been rising and fluctuating around the globe, with jet fuel shortages looming too thanks to the closure of the Strait, an area which is vital for the transport and export of oil.

The BBC reports that following Trump's announcement of the deal, the price of a barrel of oil dropped below the $100 mark for the first time in many days since the start of the conflict.

Trump is hailing the deal a 'big day for world peace’.

He posted on Truth Social: "Iran wants it to happen, they’ve had enough! Likewise, so has everyone else! The United States of America will be helping with the traffic buildup in the Strait of Hormuz.

"There will be lots of positive action! Big money will be made. Iran can start the reconstruction process."

He added: "We'll be loading up with supplies of all kinds, and just 'hangin' around' in order to make sure everything goes well. I feel confident that it will."

"Just like we are experiencing in the U.S., this could be the golden age of the Middle East!" Trump claimed.

According to Metro, Iran’s security council will now hand over a 10-point plan to the US through contacts in Pakistan.

However, Tehran has said that the war is not over.

Trump previously broke his own deadline when he ordered airstrikes Iran’s main oil export terminal, Kharg Island.

The media asked him if he was worried about committing war crimes when he threatened to target civilian infrastructure such as bridges and railways.

"I’m not worried about it. You know the war crime? The war crime is allowing Iran to have a nuclear weapon," he insisted.

Iranian foreign minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said Iran would halt 'defensive operations' and allow safe passage through the Hormuz 'via coordination with Iran's armed forces'.
