Melania Trump revealed the meaning behind the affectionate nickname she gives her son, Barron Trump.

Barron, 19, is the son of Donald Trump and First Lady Melania. He is the US president's youngest child.

The teenager is currently a student at New York University (NYU) and has been studying and attending classes at the Stern School of Business since September last year, having graduated from Florida's Oxbridge Academy.

Mum Melania spoke about her son during an interview with the now defunct Parenting magazine, explaining that she has an affectionate nickname for Barron.

While it's hard to imagine that a person who is six foot seven could ever have this nickname, Melania revealed that she calls him 'little Donald'.

"He is a very strong-minded, very special, smart boy," she said, adding that 'he is independent and opinionated and knows exactly what he wants'.

Many people have pointed out how much Barron resembles a younger Trump too, with one person writing on X: "Barron striking resemblance to a younger Donald."

While another said: "He looks so much like young Donald Trump."

Melania has previously spoken about her son and how he has been settling into college life in New York.

She told Fox & Friends last year: "I don't think it's possible for him to be a normal student. His experience at college - it's very different than any other kid.

"I’m very proud [of] how he’s handling [it]. He’s very strong and he knows that he’s in a different position than other children."

Apparently, Barron has had to come up with a rather creative way of chatting to his friends.

According to Page Six, Barron communicates with his mates on Xbox, due to security issues with him giving out his phone number.

"He has added it to his repertoire," said a source. "It’s his communication platform of choice."

Apparently, Barron cannot give out his personal phone number due to security issues, with the source adding that it 'creates more trouble than it’s worth'.

They explained: "If people get the number, they would give it out and then a million people would be calling non stop. You’d have to change the number constantly and it’d become a merry-go-round."

Of his chosen communication method, the source added: "It’s his work around. He’s still trouble shooting."

It's said that Barron only communicates on the gaming platform with people he knows.

"It’s gamer bro culture, they ask each other for their gamer tag," the source said. "He knows the people."
