Critics have attacked Melania Trump after an official social media page marked a major milestone in the former model’s career.

On August 7, US President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump celebrated 200 days in office for the second time in eight years.

Since officially returning to her post on January 20, Melania’s short time in the White House has seen her attend events such as the 250th anniversary Army parade in Washington and speak at the International Women of Courage Awards.

The mother-of-one was also snapped attending a D.C. area children’s hospital and made headlines when she publicly championed the ‘Take it Down Act’, which her husband signed into law on May 19.

The latter legislation criminalises nonconsensual, explicit images created by artificial intelligence, AKA deepfakes.

As well as attending the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final, Melania has been spotted at a showing of Les Misérables at the Kennedy Centre and paid her respects at Pope Francis’ funeral, where the US president faced backlash over his outfit.

According to Business Insider, the First Lady has averaged one to three appearances at public White House events each month since her husband resumed office earlier this year.

In May, sources told The New York Times that Melania had actually ‘spent less than 14 days’ at the President’s Palace in the first 108 days of his second term.

This supposed infrequency has caused critics to pile on a post praising Trump’s third wife for reassuming her First Lady role.

On August 7, the official Office of the First Lady X account wrote: “The First 200 Days with our First Lady.”

Four pictures were included in the original post, including two snaps of Melania and Trump, whom she married in January 2005.

These were later followed up with more pictures from various engagements Melania attended.

Referencing the first four images, comedian Laurie Kilmartin wrote: “Is this all four days she’s been at the White House?”

“They got all four paid engagements on this one,” said someone else.

Another typed: “Melania's only been at the Whitehouse for 14 days so they only had 4 pictures to use.”

Others have praised the woman’s first 200 days as FLOTUS, with one X user writing: “Always thought Laura Bush was full of elegance and class. So thankful to have that same aurora and even more in our First Lady, @FLOTUS @MELANIATRUMP - America finally has a LADY that all our little girls can look up to with admiration and respect.”

“She is so classy! Very happy America is back!,” someone else chimed in.

Melania previously revealed in an interview with Fox Digital that she wouldn’t be living at the White House full-time during her husband’s presidency.

Following the declaration that he’d beaten Democratic ticket Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, she told the outlet she would split her time between Washington, New York City and Palm Beach, Florida.

"My first priority is to be a mom, to be a First Lady, to be a Wife,” she revealed.
