Seven years after controversially asking 'who gives a f**k about Christmas' in a leaked audio recording, it seems that Melania Trump is attempted to turn around her 'Scrooge' reputation around.
Inviting press into the White House this week, the First Lady, 55, flaunted her elaborate 2025 festive light display, arguably the most staggering we've seen in the presidential residence so far, having left no corner un-tinselled.
Abiding by this year's theme, 'Home Is Where the Heart Is', Melania is said to have pulled out all the stops to make history with her latest project, incorporating into her display 75 wreaths, 51 Christmas trees, over 213 meters of garland, more than 2,000 strands of lights, over 7,620 meters of ribbon, more than 2,800 gold stars, a surplus of 10,000 butterflies, and 54 kilos of gingerbread.

The show-stopping exhibition has supposedly impressed a number of onlookers, with some taking to social media to voice their praise.
"INCREDIBLE: First Lady Melania Trump cut ZERO corners on the White House Christmas decorations," one X user gushed. "She always delivers."
"Melania didn’t just decorate—she staged a full-on Christmas spectacle," another continued. "This isn’t festive, it’s a statement. She literally turned the White House into the ultimate holiday flex."
This said however, it seems the mother-of-one's sparkling surprise has inadvertently unearthed a comment she previously made about the holiday season.
In 2018, during Trump's first term in the Oval Office, Melania was secretly recorded having her say on a hotly-debated policy introduced by her Republican husband at the time, which saw families being separated after crossing the southern border.
On the criticism she faced as a result, the Slovenian claimed she'd been focussing her own professional endeavours.

"They say I’m complicit. I’m the same like him, I support him," Melania was heard saying in audio recorded by former friend and advisor Stephanie Winston Wolkoff. "I don’t say enough I don’t do enough where I am."
She went on to insist: "I’m working - my a** off on the Christmas stuff, that you know, who gives a f**k about the Christmas stuff and decorations? But I need to do it, right?
"OK, and then I do it and I say that I’m working on Christmas and planning for the Christmas and they said, 'Oh, what about the children that they were separated?' Give me a f*cking break. Where they were saying anything when Obama did that? I can not go, I was trying get the kid reunited with the mom.
"I didn’t have a chance – needs to go through the process and through the law."
After Wolkoff also released a book about her time with her, Melania's team released a statement, hitting out: "Secretly taping the First Lady and willfully breaking an NDA to publish a salacious book is a clear attempt at relevance.

"The timing of this continues to be suspect - as does this never-ending exercise in self-pity and narcissism."
Despite the seriousness of the breach of confidence, Melania's festive outburst is still being seen as something of a source of amusement for onlookers to this day, with one writing online: "I’m sorry but I couldn’t help but laugh at that leaked audio of Melania, Christmas in the west had her stressed out."
Another agreed: "It was unforgettable."
A third questioned this week: "Remember when Melania literally said f**k Christmas?"
"The whole world knows Melania doesn’t give a f*ck about Christmas," a fourth noted.
