Donald Trump has been accused of hypocrisy this week, after a group of critics made a surprising revelation about his family history.
For those in need of a reminder, ever since his second inauguration back in January, the Republican leader announced a mission to halt 'all illegal entry into the country' and deport millions of 'illegal aliens'.
Weeks later, Trump unveiled a new executive order which would also limit the number of kids being granted US citizenship by 'targeting' those with immigrant parents.
It has long been the case in America that, any child born on US soil is automatically made a citizen - even if their parents were both in another country. This guidance is documented in the first sentence of the 14th Amendment of the country's Constitution.

As per Trump's new order, however, it'll be harder for the kids of unauthorised immigrants to obtain automatic citizenship of America - even if they, themselves, were born there.

Naturally, since its announcement, left-leaning critics have been left outraged by the controversial policy, which - if fully implemented - could see children deported to countries they've never visited.
And amidst their despair, several of these furious individuals have since discovered an unexpected aspect of Trump's family history.

In a new video going viral on social media, users who'd previously been in the dark were informed that the President's own mother wasn't born in America, and actually hailed from Scotland.
Mary Anne Macleod, the woman in question, had moved from the UK to America in 1930 where she worked as a house servant until she met and married successful property developer, Frederick Trump.
Frederick's family also came from overseas, with his family having migrated from Germany to New York six years earlier.

Pointing out the double standards in Trump's severe beliefs when it comes to immigration, one disgruntled Instagram user pointed out: "Oh so you’re telling me he benefited from the very birth right citizenship he is so desperately trying to get rid of??"
Another insisted: "Trump needs to be deported too. According to him it does not matter if you are born here. Technically he is not a citizen of the US."
A third hit out: "That’s why he should show some respect for immigrants."
"So Trumps parents are immigrants and he himself is a birthright child that he wants to get rid of birthright children," another noted. "How ironic."

"Aye aye Aye so u telling me the ones whose threatening every immigrant is a immigrant himself? questioned another.
Another also wrote: "He’s rich off his immigrant parents literally."
