The mum of missing X Factor star Levi Davis described the investigation into her son's disappearance as 'slow' and a 'total emotional rollercoaster' after new details emerged about the case.

Levi, 25, was last seen on 29 October in Barcelona, where he left The Old Irish Pub on La Rambla at 10.05pm.

The investigation revealed that his phone last registered in the early hours of 30 October at a phone tower at the far end of the commercial port, but none of his friends or family have heard from him since shortly before midnight on the 29th.

Earlier this month, Levi's mum Julie shared an update into the investigation and said police had investigated reports of 'a man in the water by staff on a cruise ship entering the port at 6.30am on 30 October'.

"Four members of staff confirmed seeing a man in the water with specific details including him asking for help in English and the colour of his clothing," she said.

"A life jacket was thrown from the ship and emergency Sea and Air rescue services searched the area but they were unable to find him.

"The investigation is still very much ongoing and we are hoping that the Port Police will authorise and carry out a further search of the waters and other inaccessible areas of the port."

After the news came to light, Julie spoke to The Sun about how long it has taken to find out new details about the case.

“Why is this information about the cruise ship staff only coming months later?" she asked.

"I don’t know what to believe anymore. I know the Spanish police can be slow but I can’t make head nor tail of it."

Levi has not contacted friends or family since 29 October.

Julie went on to say that there are still lots of questions that she needs answers to, adding: "It’s disheartening when you ask police questions and get very limited feedback.

“They say, ‘We can’t tell you that because it will jeopardise the case.’ It’s been a total emotional rollercoaster.

“The way the evidence is pointing isn’t good but without a body, there’s just no way of knowing what’s happened.”

Julie, who was the last person to hear from Levi on 29 October, now wants a judge to authorise Spanish Port Police to carry out a search of the waters and other areas of the port.

She's trying to hold on to hope, but admitted the situation is 'very difficult'.

“I take it one day at a time. Levi would tell me to control what I can control and leave the rest alone," she said.

“We’ve often said that to each other in dark moments. He would tell me to carry on as normal and look after the family ‘because without you mum, the family would fall apart’.

“I won’t ever give up hope. I don’t want to believe it and I won’t believe it until the police say, ‘Here’s the body’.”

Levi appeared on The X Factor in 2019 before starring in the 2020 series of E4's Celebs Go Dating.
