Mormon sex has rapidly - and unexpectedly - become one of the most hotly-debated topics of conversation on the internet in recent weeks.

And today, we're here to tell you everything you need to know about a controversial intimacy trend known as 'Levi Lovin', which some members of the religious group reportedly use as a way of preserving their vow of chastity.

Before we get down and dirty, however, it might be worth letting you in on why so people people have seemingly become transfixed by the ins and outs of the Mormon community recently.

It may be partially because of Hulu's brand new reality series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered earlier this month and has since been giving viewers a glimpse into the highs and lows of members of the Church of Latter-Day Saints.

Or it could be ex Mormons who have since taken to TikTok to expose the ins and outs of their former community.

Either way, Mormons have got our attention - especially when it comes to their bedroom habits.

Apparently, because the group have to abide by strict rules on intimacy, raunchy members are forced to find loopholes that allow them to purge their sexual urges, one of these being 'Levi Lovin'.

According to Alyssa Grenfell - an ex-Mormon who regularly details her former life on TikTok - this act actually goes by several different names.

The social media star defines this as: "The Mormon term that refers to dry-humping."

She continued: "This is basically the motions of having sex while clothed. It's also sometimes called 'durfing'."

This isn't the only way that members of the Mormon community claim to retain their vow of chastity while having a bit of fun on the side, however.

There's also 'soaking'.

"You've probably heard of 'soaking'," the TikToker continued. "It's apparently when a man puts it [his penis] in but doesn't move at all so it 'doesn't count' as a sin, though I swear this one is just a Mormon myth."

This particular act can also be intensified by 'jump humping'.

This sees a third party invited to the bedroom, where they'll jump on the bed so as to instigate movement between the two parties.

This isn't the only aspect of Mormon sex that Alyssa has lifted the lid on in the past.

She's also previously spoken about the concept of 'soft swinging', explaining why it's so prevalent within the community and what it actually involves.

"Swinging, in my opinion, is actually prevalent in Mormon culture especially in Utah," said Alyssa.

"These women are getting married as young as 16, straight into childbirth... a lot of the men getting married around 20, 21... very early marriages and then when they find themselves in unhappy marriages they then try to resort to swinging to try and stay married.

"Getting divorced and breaking up a temple marriage is a really big deal within Mormonism so they resort to swinging as a way to have their cake and eat it too."
