The Gen Z woman who was left shocked by a ‘bad’ text from her millennial date has now given us the update we were all after, having shared the ‘cop out’ response she’s since received.

Elizabeth Castaldi, 27, took to TikTok recently to document the aftermath of a date she’d had with a 35-year-old man.

After she enjoyed hanging out with him, she received a text that said: “Hey, had fun last night. Have a good day."

Elizabeth - whose handle is @yogiinpinkk - then asked her followers: “Is he a bad texter or is he 35?”

While some people were confused by what the problem was, she explained in a comment: “Let’s be clear, I do not have the ick.

“I just can’t read him and I really, really want to go on a second date.”

She eventually replied to the message to say she’d also had a good time, adding: “Hope your day is going well.”

Elizabeth later shared a part three to the saga after she decided to shoot her shot and message the guy again.

She wrote breezily: “Mornin! I’m free Wednesday and would love to see you again.”

However, his reply wasn’t quite so promising. “Next week may be a little crazy with work as I have some deals closing,” he responded.

“Basically not sure I’d be able to make it to RI. So maybe we play it by ear a little.”

Elizabeth said she would ‘leave’ things in his court, as he stressed him not having access to a car made things ‘difficult’.

As she urged the fella to just let her know ‘what works’ for him, things ended with him saying: “Sounds good!”

Many people said Elizabeth was being ‘way too nice’ about it and that his response had been a ‘cop out’, with one writing: “Play it by ear is insane.”

Another commented with a red flag emoji, while someone else said: “Na cuz work is never too crazy to hang out.”

One other added: “Yeah, he’s just not into you, would much prefer him to just be honest though. Too many excuses. If he wants to, he would. Period.”

Elizabeth told the Daily Mail that dating has been going 'alright' - although she's had a few 'bad dates'.

"I tend to be a little on the old fashioned end of things dating wise so it's definitely a quest to find a respectful, sweet, thoughtful, traditional-ish partner," she explained.
