The 80s sci-fi show has been on for almost a decade, with viewers tuning in to five seasons over the years.
The grand finale, starring the likes of Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, Finn Wolfhard and Joe Keery, to name a few, dropped onto Netflix on New Year's Eve, airing an epic blockbuster-length finale to bring the story of the Hawkins gang to a close.
Tears were shed as fans got an emotional epilogue showing the fate of every character, who, aside from poor Eleven, got a somewhat happy ending.

As we say, the new behind-the-scenes documentary featured two hours' worth of emotional footage of the cast's final scenes, what was going on inside the writer's room, as well as reflective interviews from the likes of Bobby Brown, Wolfhard, and Caleb McLaughlin.
It also caught on camera the tear-jerking moment the entire cast gathered together with the writers, creators and producers, the Duffer brothers, to discover the fate of their characters.
Most of them have been stepping into their characters' shoes for a whopping ten years and began the series as children, so, as expected, it was incredibly emotional.
The group read the script together, so they discovered what happened at the same time, tears flowing as they reached the final basement scene.

Before they delved in, Wolfhard, who plays Mike, admitted: "We had a year of being on the edge of our seats. It was torture."
While Noah Schnapp, who plays Will, said: "Reading that episode - it signifies an official goodbye to our childhood."
After being heckled for a speech, the Duffers told the cast: "I just feel like everything we wanna say about the experience and the show and the characters is in the script. Ross and I are not as eloquent at speaking as we are at writing so I think we'd just rather you read it."

As they got stuck in, viewers saw the cast cheering as they reached the moment when Jonathan (Charlie Heaton) saves Steve (Joe Keery) from falling off the radio tower, and when Hopper (David Harbour) proposes to Joyce (Winona Ryder).
However, as fans know, there were also a heap of emotional moments, including Eleven's final speeches to Hopper and Mike, with Bobby Brown being unable to hold in her tears as she read them out.
As the group read out the final heart-wrenching scenes, they were all sniffling and wiping tears away, with Wolfhard particularly crying as the Duffer narrated: "Mike watches Holly and her friends from the top of the stairs.

"The sound of their banter and laughter fills the basement. They're just like him and his friends all those years ago. A moment of sadness as Mike remembers back to his childhood. Then, the sadness fades, giving way to a smile. He walks away and the closes the basement door. End series."
Reacting on Twitter, one fan penned: "Whole Crew crying their heart out at the Table read for the Closing scene of stranger things Finale episode #StrangerThings5."
While a second demanded that the scenes we saw weren't enough, adding: "Please release the whole final table read. I'm begging you @Netflix, please!!"
And a third penned: "Finished the stranger things documentary and that final table read WRECKED me."
