Stranger Things fans shocked after realising where they’ve seen Vecna actor before

Stranger Things fans are just now realising that they recognise the show's antagonist, Vecna, from a hugely popular movie series.

Season five volume one of American sci-fi TV show, created by the Duffer brothers, dropped on Netflix on 26 November to the delight of fans who have been waiting for new episodes since 2022.

The show has been going on since 2016 and is finally coming to an epic conclusion after we were treated to four episodes last week, with more instalments coming on Christmas Day and the big finale on New Year's Eve.

For nine years now, fans have been watching Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughin, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink and more as they embody their characters in the town of Hawkins and battle against the dark forces in the Upside Down.

But there's one actor in Stranger Things that viewers are just now realising they've seen in many other films - and that's Jamie Campbell Bower, who plays the evil Vecna, also known as 'One' or 'Henry'.

The terrifying villain was officially introduced in season four, although it was later revealed he's actually been pulling the strings long before that.

As the beloved TV show comes to a close, we're expecting to see a huge showdown between Vecna and the protagonists, including Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown).

And as we say, it's not the only time Bower has played a villain, as fans have realised they recognise him from none other than the Twilight Saga.

He took on the role of Volturi member Caius and appeared in both New Moon and Breaking Dawn.

For those unfamiliar, the Volturi are the ancient and powerful vampire coven that enforces vampire law in Volterra, Italy. And once people realised Caius was Jamie, it sparked a whole slew of conversation about the other unexpected roles he's had, including a cameo in Harry Potter and roles in Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones alongside Lily Collins.

One Twitter user penned: "Vecna being Jamie Campbell bower still gags me because that was my man in twilight #strangerthings5."

While a second and third agreed: "Everytime I remember Vecna is in Twilight I geek the f*** out" and "I didn’t realize the actor who plays Vecna was in twilight. He was in the volturi."

And a fourth added: "Me neither until like 2 nights ago. I haven’t seen those last couple Twilight films in a lil while though."

Commenting on his other movie roles, others chimed in with:"He’s also in Sweeney Todd, beautiful singing voice!" and "Harry Potter, Fantastic Beasts, Sweeney Todd - the resume is stacked!"

In 2007's Sweeney Todd, he played the character Anthony Hope and starred alongside Johnny Depp, while in the Harry Potter franchise, he portrayed a young Gellert Grindelwald in flashbacks in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1.
