With the weather giving us more winter than summer right now, I'm sure all many of us want to do is curl up on the sofa with a cuppa and get stuck into some proper good telly.

Well, lucky for us, an 'amazing' spy thriller has been renewed for a new season and fans are beyond buzzing.

People are loving it so much they're even hailing the eight-part series, which dropped on Paramount+ just last year, a '10/10'.

The American thriller boasts a star-studded cast including the likes of Zoe Saldaña, Morgan Freeman and Nicole Kidman.

Those who have seen the debut season insist that if you're a fan of Jack Ryan and Homeland, then you'll love this just as much.

It's based on Force Recon Marine Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira) who has to befriend the daughter of a suspected terrorist, who is being surveilled by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Saldaña stars as CIA agent Joe, who is in charge of the Lioness programme in the field, while Kidman plays her supervisor, Kaitlyn Meade.

In case you've not yet guessed it already, the series is none other than Special Ops: Lioness.

Fans are clearly buzzing at the news of the series being renewed for another season with one Facebook user writing: "Special OPS has been renewed for Season 2. Lets keep it locked!"

"I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this show!" commented a second fan.

People have also taken to X, formerly Twitter, to share their praise with one viewer writing: "Holy sh*t Special Ops: Lioness was so f*cking good."

"Just felt that I had to say, Special Ops: Lioness is on the level of Jack Ryan / Echo 3 / The Night Agent. Top TV entertainment in the Gov / Military genre. This guy IS entertained! Please do more! You're very good at it!" quipped a second.

"Me debating if I want to rewatch Special Ops: Lioness, like that show was so good," a third admitted while a fourth added: "Special Ops: Lioness is fkn good."

And, when asked what was a '10/10 movie or series', a final Twitter replied - you guessed it - Special Ops: Lioness.
