When watching a particularly steamy movie scene, no one assumes that the actors are really having sex.
It's pretty common knowledge that most of the time, it's actually quite unsexy, as behind the scenes, these seemingly NSFW moments are choreographed with extreme precision, almost like a dance routine.
Directors will carefully plan with intimacy coordinators, utilise camera angles, and modesty garments to make it all seem as real as possible to us watching at home.
However, with that being said, there are instances where the raunchy scene is actually real - and you'd have no idea.

Yep, that's right - there are dozens of films with unsimulated sex scenes in them, which had proven a contentious point of debate over the years.
This is sometimes because the actor decides it'd be more believable that way, or the director has a specific vision in mind.
So, without further ado, here are some of the celebrities who actually had sex on screen. Be warned, you might not be able to watch your favourite film in the same way again!

Although he might be better known for his roles in the likes of Twilight and Batman, Robert Pattinson actually took part in an unsimulated sex scene for Little Ashes, a 2008 film directed by Paul Morrison.
In the 2008 drama movie Pattinson played surrealist painter Salvador Dali.
In a profile for Germany's Interview Magazine, the actor previously shared: "I played Salvador Dali and had to do a lot of scenes where I was naked, and I also had to masturbate. I mean really.
“My orgasm face is recorded for eternity."
Asked why he didn't simply fake it, he continued: "[It] just doesn’t work, so I pleasured myself in front of the camera."
Aubrey Plaza had a similar experience in the 2013 movie The To-Do List, where her character Brandy Klark had a moment of self pleasure.
The actress, 41, told Conan O'Brien that when she got to the bit in the script where it said 'Brandy masturbates' the director shockingly told her to do just that.
She recalled: "In my head I envisioned a nice scene where you just see my hand slowly go out of frame."
"I thought I was doing one thing and when I showed up it was a whole different thing, it was a full body shot and I asked the director 'what should I do' and she said 'masturbate like it says in the script'."

Unsimulated sex also occurred in 2009 movie Antichrist, which follows a married couple whose son tragically dies in an accident.
Those who have seen the movie will know there's quite a graphic scene that seemingly depicts leading actors Willem Dafoe and Charlotte Gainsbourg having sex.
This is real - however, it's not them - it's actually their body doubles.
Speaking about their decision not to ahem, do it themselves, Dafoe understandably explained at the time: "Charlotte and I are both married and I’m not sure everybody would be cool with that."
In the 2001 movie Intimacy, Kerry Fox and Mark Rylance, as the title would suggest, got intimate.
There was an unsimulated oral sex act, and the actor said this film was the 'most difficult job' he ever took, largely due to this.
He admitted to The Guardian in 2016: "I was convinced it was a vital story about the difficulties people face finding intimacy in a big city like London.
"Hanif Kureishi's writing couldn't have been more intimate and revealing, but I found the making of the film and the subsequent publicity and personal attacks very, very painful. I wish I hadn't made it."
He said he felt 'undue pressure' from director Patrice Chéreau to do the scene and added that at the time he lacked the confidence to say no.
But Fox said doing the film was 'not one of her regrets'.

The move Nymphomaniac featured quite a confusing unsimulated sex scene.
The producer of the film, Louise Vesth told The Hollywood Reporter that the body doubles did actually have sex and then that was digitally imposed over the actors, who didn't. Make sense?
She explained: "We shot the actors pretending to have sex and then had the body doubles, who really did have sex, and in post (production) we will digital-impose the two."
"So above the waist it will be the star and then below the waist it will be the doubles."
Vincent Gallo starred alongside Chloë Sevigny in the 2003 movie The Brown Bunny, which included an unsimulated sex scene.
For those who have not seen the film, Sevigny's character performed oral sex on Gallo.
Sevigny touched on this in an interview in 2010, saying 'what's happened with that is all very complicated'.
She explained to Playboy: "There are a lot of emotions. I'll probably have to go to therapy at some point. But I love Vincent. The film is tragic and beautiful, and I'm proud of it and my performance.
"I'm sad that people think one way of the movie, but what can you do? I've done many explicit sex scenes, but I'm not that interested in doing any more.
"I'm more self-aware now and wouldn't be able to be as free, so why even do it?"
