Big Brother star Jordan has been praised by viewers after an emotional scene showed him opening up to housemate Matty about coming out as gay.

Fans have been absolutely loving the 'ultimate social experiment' that finally returned to our screens after five long years.

The long-awaited ITV reboot of Big Brother premiered earlier this month (8 October), introducing excited audiences to the house's 16 contestants who are now all battling it out in a hopes of pocketing the staggering £100,000 cash prize.

While there's already been a whole bunch of drama on the programme, what with Jenkin Edwards getting the short-end of the stick on the very first day and a load of chaotic games and challenges, there has also been heaps of support for one particular contestant.

And that is Big Brother star Jordan Sangha, who has been praised by fans after opening up about coming out as gay.

Jordan, a lawyer from Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire, is one of the younger contestants this year after turning 26 years old on the show.

In tonight's airing of the programme, which also contains the second round of nominations, Jordan began to open up to 24-year-old Matty Simpson, a doctor from the Isle of Man, about his journey with his sexuality.

"I'm glad to be here. Glad to be queer," Jordan told Matty before bringing up the topic of his coming out.

Jordan, a self-confessed Downton Abbey super-fan, continued: "I came out to my mother the first night of university, screaming down the phone in the smoking area because there was this guy that I fancied.

"And I thought for some reason, if I come out to my mother this guy will want to…"

Jordan had a heart-to-heart with Matty about his coming out story before Zak arrived.

He went on to say: "How I came out to my grandfather was even worse.

"Me and my mother, well we were both a little bit tipsy, and she thought it was pertinent to call my grandfather and announce."

The pair's conversation was then interrupted by the arrival of 28-year-old model from Manchester, Zak Srakaew, who asked what they were talking about.

Jordan then informed him: "Oh, it’s too embarrassing to share so I won’t share it at the moment."

Reacting to the moment on Twitter, many fans couldn't help but love the 'sweet moment' between Jordan and Matty, with some even wondering if there was something of a 'love triangle' on the horizon.

One wrote: "JORDAN IS SO CUTE #BBUK."

Someone else said: "JORDAN! That uni story is so relatable #bbuk."

A third wrote: "Oh my god he’s even sharing his coming out story to matty this is so cute #BBUK."

A fourth added: "Love that Jordan was happy to share his coming out story on national TV but didn't want to share it in front of Zak. Speaks volumes."

The conversation comes after ITV issued a statement after Kerry Riches, a 40-year-old NHS manager from Essex, used an 'inappropriate' slur on the show.

Kerry was one of a number of contestants enjoying the VIP campsite experience for this week's shopping task.

But two of her fellow housemates decided to play a prank on her by hiding her luxury mattress - a stunt that didn't go down too well with her.

Olivia Young, a 23-year-old dancer and model from Glasgow, and Jenkin, a 25-year-old barman from Bridgend, also told Kerry that viewers had voted for the housemate that they wanted to lose it.

Kerry, an NHS manager from Essex, said she would ask Big Brother for the mattress back, having earned the special treatment after spending time out in the rain.

Sitting down with Olivia and Jenkin, she said: "Well, this is gay."

A spokesperson for Big Brother told Tyla: "Kerry was brought to the diary room to discuss her inappropriate use of language.

"Big Brother reminded Kerry of her respect and inclusion training prior to entering the House and the consequences of any further use of offensive language.

"Kerry understood and apologised for any offence caused."

Big Brother airs nightly at 9pm except Saturdays on ITV2 and ITVX
