Netflix viewers brand shocking new documentary about man with '1,000 kids' ‘crazy’ before it has even aired

The crazy true crime story began all the way back in 2007

Netflix fans are branding one documentary as 'crazy' before the title has even been released.

The streaming giant has been giving us more than our fair share of jaw dropping documentaries of late.

I mean, who could forget Dancing for the Devil: The 7M TikTok Cult? Or the completely gut-wrenching docuseries Six Schizophrenic Brothers?

Not us, that's for sure.

But there's one forthcoming true crime doc that viewers already know is going to have their blood pressure through the roof.

It's called The Man With 1000 Kids.

Watch the trailer here:

The three-episode docuseries follows the eerie story of Jonathan Meijer, a Dutch sperm donor who made himself very available to those wanting children.

He began donating sperm in 2007.

As well as being a prospective surrogate father, Meijer worked as a musician - which he still does to this day.

He stood out to many people who needed a sperm donor as his appearance seemed to welcome healthy, attractive babies.

Noted by Netflix's Tudum as being "tall, handsome, and blessed with a head of thick blond hair", it's easy to surmise exactly why Meijer stood out to those browsing sperm donation websites.

As is custom, Meijer would introduce himself to prospective parents and it soon came to light that he had been telling lies.

He'd say his intention was to donate sperm only to only a few families, but the result shows this was clearly untrue.

Meijer's serial sperm donation didn't just take place in the Netherlands (where he was signed up to 11 sperm banks as well as private donation centres) - there were also many countries and continents he was working in.

Director Josh Allott asks: “You get one life on this Earth - why has he chosen to use his charm and his intellect and his creativity in order to try to procreate on a mass scale and deceive all these people?"

He continued: "Speaking to lots of different parents that have met him and people that know him well, it seems like it almost became an addiction for him.”

The explosive documentary hears from parents who used Meijer's sample, as well as lawyers, fertility activists and medical professionals, some of whom worked tirelessly to stop his actions.

People are absolutely speechless having watched the trailer alone.

One person wrote: "Dropping my plans on July 3rd because this wild documentary, "The Man With 1000 Kids" hits Netflix. This dude out here fathering a whole army?? Can't wait to spill the tea with my besties after watching this mess."

Another said: "He took “be fruitful and multiply” way too seriously. Damn!"

While a third simply mused: "This is crazy lol."

The Man With 1000 Kids is available to stream on Netflix on 3 July.
