Dearest gentle readers: This article contains spoilers for Bridgerton

Bridgerton fans have just been treated to a first look at Penelope and Colin's engagement announcement as the new trailer has now finally dropped for season three part two.

Now, the first part of the latest season of the 'ton focuses mainly on friends-to-lovers Colin Bridgerton and Penelope Featherington, played by Luke Newton and Nicola Coughlan respectively.

It took us no time at all to rattle through the first four episodes, which dropped last month (16 May), and many of us have been sent into quite the frenzy following the infamous carriage scene and, ever since, have been itching for our latest Bridgerton fix.

Well, we're just that one bit closer now to countdown finally being over as Netflix has finally released the official trailer for the second part, captioning it: "First comes love, then comes carriage." Have a look:

Netflix viewers clearly can't wait for the season to finally drop later this month (13 June) with one X user writing: "I CAN’T F*CKING WAIT!"

A second joked: "I will not survive this. I barely made it out of this trailer alive."

"I CAN'T BREATHE!" exclaimed a third while a fourth echoed: "OMFG??"

Our thoughts exactly.

The official Bridgerton X page also shared the trailer alongside the caption: "With an announcement of such magnitude comes an even greater secret… Which begs this author to wonder: Should one still reveal a truth when they stand to lose everything?"

Needless to say, it's sent fans into a total spiral.

"SHE IS TEMPTED TO KEEP IT SECRET??? BUT WHY SHE MUST TELL HIM," penned one X user, referencing the whole Lady Whistledown drama.

In case you need your memory jogged, Lady Whistledown is an anonymous author whose weekly gossip pamphlets often sway the opinions of then 'ton's highest class busybodies when it comes to the current social happenings, much to Queen Charlotte's dismay.

Throughout the entirety of the first series, fans were DESPERATE to know the identity of the 19th century's answer to Gossip Girl.

It's only the final episode of the debut series that finally reveals Lady Whistledown is none other than Penelope Featherington - leaving us completely shook and the rest of the cast totally unaware... well, except for Eloise Bridgerton in season 2.

"OH MY GOD I WASN'T EXPECTING THAT," admitted a second, while a third echoed: "I CAN'T BREATHE ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!"

A fourth piped up: "I THINK I MIGHT SWOON DEAREST AUTHOR."

"CARRIAGE 2.0 LET'S GOOOOOO," exclaimed a fifth while a sixth quipped: "I’M NOT SURVIVING PART TWO!"

And a final X user said what we're probably all thinking right now: "Well how am I supposed to Monday knowing there’s still 10 days to go before I can see this?"

Bridgerton season 3 part one is currently available to stream on Netflix, and the second part will drop on June 13.
