Selena Gomez and Meghan Trainor have been fiercely defended by fans online after a YouTuber body-shamed them in a bizarre attack.
Martín Cirio, who boasts over 1.1 million subscribers on the social media platform, has recently gone viral for all the wrong reasons after calling Meghan a 'traitor' for losing weight while promoting body positivity, as well as likening Selena's 'swollen face' to that of a 'toad'.
Launching his attack on Selena, the Argentinian content creator and streamer said, as per an English translation from Spanish outlet Los40: "I remember when she said, 'I know I'm not going to get my 20-year-old body back,' and she was all swollen and a standing toad, with a face that looked like it was going to burst. And look at her now with her 20-year-old body.
"It’s okay, I’m not criticising her, we’re all in this together."

At that moment, Martín read a comment in the chat room pointing out that Selena has lupus, a chronic autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks healthy tissues and organs, causing inflammation and damage.
She has previously spoken out about the comments she receives regarding her weight, and she has defended her appearance against such criticism numerous times in the past.
"She has lupus… She has Ozempic, what lupus? She also had lupus when she was fat and swollen like a toad, and what happened then? Did her lupus go away?" he asked.

When talking about Meghan, he continued: "Is Meghan Trainor skinny now? It would have to be Meghan Traitor, Meghan the traitor, or the fat traitor."
Fans have since rushed to social media to call out the YouTuber for his comments, with one Reddit user writing: "I hate how body positivity was reduced to fat vs skinny.
"Btw, nothing says 'I want to uplift women and spread the message of body positivity' like calling a female celebrity you don't like a toad."

"What a loser. I have a similar autoimmune disease to lupus and also get swelling, especially in my face. This guy is scum and couldn’t tolerate for an hour what we go through every day," slammed a second.
Meghan had previously admitted to using Mounjaro to aid in her weight loss journey, revealing that she decided to lose weight to be the 'healthiest, strongest version of myself for my kids and for me', which is something that another commenter pointed out.
They wrote: "I think there's a big difference between Meghan Trainor as a person deciding to lose weight and Meghan Trainor as a brand turning her back on body positivity. She did the former, and making a personal decision like that isn't the latter.

"I would understand this sentiment if some popular plus-size brand was like 'we're only doing petite now because it's more beautiful'.
"And Trainor was never some vanguard for body positivity anyway, she was just a pop star who was Hollywood plus-sized and made some songs about being confident in her body. It was as commercial and poppy as everything else about her."
Meanwhile, one X user lamented: "Men will always keep body shaming women..."
"Most of these social media influencers are clout chasers, imagine hating on a woman ( celebrities ) losing weight yet they’re some people who criticise them for being fat," penned another.

Cirio has not yet addressed the backlash publicly.
