Taylor Swift slams 'shockingly offensive' marriage theory after hearing rumours from fans

Taylor Swift has hit out at outrageous claims some fans have made following her new album

Taylor Swift's latest album The Life of a Showgirl hasn't been without controversy, but the star has hit back at some rumours that have been swirling around it.

Listeners have called out the so-called Charli XCX 'diss track', to questioning the raunchy lyrics of 'Wood' and Taylor allegedly throwing shade at Travis' ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole. But many Swifties also have some bizarre theories about the new record.

Taylor hasn't responded to most of the comments about her new music, but has slammed one as 'shockingly offensive'.

She joined BBC Radio 2's Scott Mills for an interview, and responded to the rumours that she's 'too happy' now with fiancé Travis Kelce, compared to her previous record.

"You know, like with the last record, I was in such a different place in my life when I wrote it.... just miserable, and then when I put it out, I was so happy. I, however, am not miserable anymore so it feels weird to talk about the record."

That wasn't the rumour which had her blood boiling, though.

Scott asked: “Don’t tell me this is your last album?” with a shocked Taylor saying: "What? No!"

The host then explained: “I just saw some fans going, ‘Well, she’s going to get married, and then she’s going to have children and [it’s going to be her last album.’”

A stunned Taylor hit back at the claims: "That’s a shockingly offensive thing to say. It’s not why people get married, so they can quit their job."

“It’s like, I love the person that I am with because he loves what I do, and he loves how much I am fulfilled by making art and making music,” she insisted.

She praised the NFL star: “That’s the coolest thing about Travis, he’s so passionate about what he does that me being passionate about what I do, it connects.

“There’s no point in time where he’s gonna be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making music.’ Imagine [him saying], ‘The music that I signed up for, that I knew you love, I thought you were going to stop doing that,’” she finished.

“It just is the most fun thing in the world to support each other, and the polarity of how different our jobs are. But there are a lot of similarities, too,” she gushed.

“We both perform for three and a half hours in NFL stadiums. … For him, it’s practice; for me, it’s rehearsal. For him, it’s a game; for me, it’s a show. We just call them different things.”

Scott also asked Taylor if she's going to hire a wedding planner for the big day, to which she said: “I think that like I'm really right now just like really stoked about the idea that I get to marry this person. And so I'm like, I'm gonna think about that and then I'm gonna put out this album and then I'm gonna think about other things after that.”

She also praised her close friends as people who 'do not rat', for the fact she managed to keep the whole recording process a secret.
