Kayla Nicole has seemingly addressed theories that one of Taylor Swift's new songs centres on her previous relationship with Travis Kelce.
The track 'Opalite' features on the hit-maker's 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, which finally landed on Friday (3 October) after mass anticipation from fans.
Speaking during a release event for the compilation, Taylor, 35, claimed she wrote each number during the European leg of her Eras Tour last year, while she was dating NFL star Travis, to whom she is now engaged.
She claimed of the song at the time: "Opalite is man-made opal. I’ve always loved opals [and] my mum has always loved opals. It’s kind of our thing — one of our many things.

"I loved the metaphor of a man-made opal and also you had to, like, make your own happiness in your life. You had to get yourself through some difficult times to get to the positive place you’re in now.
"I really loved the idea that the man-made gemstone jewel is also a metaphor for choosing your own path to happiness [and] making it yourself. It was man-made [and] it didn’t just happen to you."
It didn't take long, however, for fans to 'suss' that the song could be about her fiancé's ex-romance with Kayla Nicole, whom he dated on-off between 2017 and 2022.

One fan wrote: "TAYLOR SWIFT JUST CALLED KAYLA NICOLE TF OUT IM LIVING FOR TS12."
Another added: "Opalite- sweet song and the Kayla digs are savage."

However, Travis' former flame Kayla seems to have addressed the hotly-debated anthem in a post shared on Instagram, with a video hinging on the dangers of comparing women.

Taking to the snap-sharing app on Saturday (4 October), the sports journalist posted a clip of a 2004 episode of America's Next Top Model, which centred on season three's Eva Marcille's audition for the show.
In the video, ANTM host Tyra Banks asked the wannabe model: "How do you compare yourself to other girls out there?"
Marcille is then seen to quickly hit back: "I don’t compare myself to other girls. I’m Eva. I’m no comparison to anyone else."
While 33-year-old Kayla didn't add anything to the post, it's been theorised online that the clip could be a response to 'Opalite', in which chart-topper Taylor seems to reference a particularly controversial moment from the broadcaster's relationship with Travis.

During one section, she sings: "You couldn’t understand it / Why you felt alone / You were in it for real / She was in her phone / You were just a pose / And don’t we try to love love / And give it all we got / You finally left the table / And what a simple thought / You’re starving ’til you’re not."
Days after the track came out, a video emerged showing Travis enjoying dinner with ex-beau Kayla during one point in their previous romance, in which he tells her: "Oh, my God. Get off your phone. Get off your phone. You’re not even drinking your wine anymore. Can we go?"
