Love Island UK winner Julia has brutal response to Lorenzo after he gives awkward relationship update

Lorenzo Alessi and Julia Mayska just gave their first TV interview after winning Love Island UK and taking home £50,000 - and it looks like it’s not all been smooth sailing.

The businessman, 28, and insurance broker, 26, appeared on ITV’s This Morning on Monday (3 August) alongside fellow finalists Jasmine Muller and Kavan Murphy, and Angelista Gunda and Simba Kudyiw.

It comes just days after they won the dating show by a landslide on 27 July, earning a massive 62.4% of the popular vote.

However, after they departed the villa, fans have been disappointed by a lack of social media posts from the winners, with no photos together being shared or events attended together, causing viewers to question whether their romance is still on.

This morning, host Josie Gibson made sure to get to the bottom of things, as she asked Lorenzo and Julia: “I’ve got to say, there are a lot of rumours that you’re not together. Are you together or are you, what is it, because you’ve got all this terminology that I don’t understand.”

Lorenzo explained, “As we’ve left the villa, we’re still in the same place. We’re still dating, exclusively dating. It’s gonna turn into something.

“Honestly, it’s been a crazy few days, and yeah, I think everything just needs to settle down, and then we’re going to go on some lovely dates and then we’ll probably fall in love and…”

Josie then asked if they’ve said the L-word yet, to which they both confirmed they hadn’t yet.

Lorenzo continued, “It’s going that way; it’s all going, the feelings are developing. Everything’s in the right position, moving in the right direction. So I feel like, just give it some time and...”

But, wanting to hear from Julia, Josie turned her attention and asked: “Do you feel the same way, Julia?”

Julia bluntly responded with: “Um.. well, where’s the date? Where’s the date, Lorenzo?”

The awkward moment saw laughter in the studio as he confirmed that it’s ‘coming,’ but he’s been 'busy'.

Putting him on the spot, Julia then asked her fellow winner: “When was the last time we saw each other?”

Stumbling on his words, Lorenzo said: “We saw each other, well, I just saw you now.”

Despite Lorenzo promising to take her to a rooftop bar for their first date, Julia’s question was still the same - when?

“Where’s my date? It’s been five days. I’m still waiting,” she joked.

To which Lorenzo said: “Look, the date has got a lot of planning involved and stuff. Good things come to those who wait.”

Reacting to the uncomfortable interview, one X user penned: “On This Morning Julia said he has not seen Lorenzo for 5 days, that’s bad! I lowkey feel bad for her! #loveislanduk.”

While a second joked: “Oh yea, this is why I voted Julia.. she’s the same person outside as she was in the villa #LoveIslandUk.”

A third agreed: “No guys I’m so so sorry i can’t stop laughing at Julia and Lorenzo’s segment on This Morning. When Julia said it’s been 5 days Kavan was aghast.”

And a fourth penned: “HELPP julia is calling Lorenzo out bye #loveislanduk.”
