Why Kim Kardashian was awarded $1.15 over 2016 Paris robbery
Kim Kardashian has been awarded one euro ($1.15) by a Paris court for being a victim of an armed robbery back in 2016.
According to a lawyer involved in the case, that was the amount of compensation the 45-year-old reality TV star asked for.
The robbery took place on 2 October 2016 during Paris Fashion Week.
Two of the robbers, who were dressed as police, forced their way into Kardashian's suite at the Hôtel de Pourtalès before binding her with zip ties and tape.

They later escaped with more than $6 million in jewellery, including a diamond ring she had worn that night to a Givenchy show.
Last year, courts found eight people guilty for the highly publicised Paris robbery, an ordeal which Kardashian recalled as being 'the most terrifying experience of my life'.
"The crime was the most terrifying experience of my life, leaving a lasting impact on me and my family," she said.
"While I’ll never forget what happened, I believe in the power of growth and accountability and pray for healing for all. I remain committed to advocating for justice and promoting a fair legal system."
Following their conviction, the mum-of-four issued a statement saying she was 'deeply grateful to the French authorities for pursuing justice in this case'.
Earlier this week on Tuesday (15 September), the court awarded a former receptionist at the Hotel de Pourtales 109,516 euros (£93,767), according to his lawyer.
The receptionist said he had been traumatised by the 2016 jewel heist.
He had sought 550,000 euros (£470,910) in damages and interest. His lawyer, Mohand Ouidja, welcomed the decision as a victory.
The lawyer also read the court’s written decisions that related to Kardashian and others to The Associated Press.
The court awarded the hotel 50,000 euros (£42,810).
Kardashian had requested just one euro in compensation following the traumatic ordeal.
She and her stylist Simone Bretter, who was also present during the robbery, said in a joint statement to The Associated Press: "The experience was deeply traumatic, and its impact has stayed with us.
"Today’s decision is not about the compensation, but about accountability and recognition."
Kardashian has sought to move on a year after the court found eight people guilty for their roles in the 2016 robbery, adding in the joint statement: "We are thankful to the Court and everyone who supported us throughout this process, and we hope to now move forward and continue to heal."
