Jennifer Lawrence shares blunt warning to fans in her first Instagram post

Jennifer Lawrence has only just joined Instagram, and she's already shared a blunt warning to fans in her very first post.

Earlier this week, the 36-year-old actress left fans delighted after setting up a verified public account on the social media platform.

Lawrence opted for 'JLaw' as her handle, joking in her bio: "jenniferlawrence was taken."

And as for her profile pic? Well, she chose an iconic snap of her sipping a drink with a head full of foils.

At the time of writing, the Hunger Games star has already amassed a whopping 3.6 million followers and only follows 46 lucky people, with some standout names on the list including Amy Poehler, Daniel Kaluuya, Suki Waterhouse, Leonardo DiCaprio, Emily Ratajkowski, Martin Scorsese and Kendall Jenner, just to name a handful.

Lawrence's debut post declared that she was finally going to give Instagram a go on Thursday (10 September).

However, she promptly warned that she'll only stick around if people play nice.

"If anyone says anything negative, I will quit immediately, no questions asked. If anyone thinks something mean, I'll know. I'll know, and I'll quit," she joked in the short clip.

She echoed the sentiment in her first Instagram Stories post, writing in a text post: "Please be mindful that any mean or aggressive comments can negatively affect the baby.

"It's me. I'm the baby."

It didn't take long for fans, brands and fellow celebrities alike to rush to the comments of Lawrence's latest post to share their elation.

Stranger Things star Noah Schnapp penned: "This is the best day of my life."

Emily in Paris actress Lily Collins beamed: "She’s here!"

The Kissing Booth's Joey King echoed: "Thank god you’re here!"

And Sex and the City icon Kristin Davis gushed: "VERY exciting!!! Welcome."

Meanwhile, fans flooded in, warning everyone to 'act right' in order to keep Lawrence on the platform.

"EVERYONE ACT RIGHT," urged one, as a second quipped: "EVERYONE BE NICE TO JENNIFER RIGHT NOW."

"EVERYONE BEHAVE," declared a third.

Another chimed in: "I'm ready to go to war if someone doesn't respect my queen."

And a final social media user added: "I volunteer as tribute to be social media security for J-Law."

Lawrence has spent over a decade without a public social media account.

Speaking on BBC 1 Radio back in 2014, she revealed: "I'm not very good on [the] phone or technology."

"I cannot really keep up with emails, so the idea of Twitter is so unthinkable to me," she said at the time. "I don't really understand what it is. It's like this weird enigma that people talk about. It's fine. I respect that."

Well, we're definitely happy she changed her tune!
