People are seriously shocked after discovering how old Danny DeVito is

Fans are 'refusing to believe' the age of Hollywood icon Danny DeVito.

Much like the ageless Paul Rudd and permanently youthful fashion design Vera Wang, most fans of DeVito were way off the mark when they were guessing his age.

The fan-favourite American actor, who has become a bit of a cult figure, first gained prominence for his portrayal of the taxi dispatcher Louie De Palma in the television series Taxi, which won him a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award.

He also played the ever-chaotic yet still somehow lovable Frank Reynolds on the FX sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. On top of that, he's also starred in a number of box-office smash-hits, including: Matilda, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Deck the Halls, Twins, The War of the Roses, Batman Returns and The Lorax.

But, despite his massive fanbase, people are still finding themselves shocked after discovering just how old DeVito is - especially following his birthday on Monday (17 November).

Born in 1944, the actor and filmmaker is a whopping 81 years old - a fact which has left many utterly bamboozled, with several rushing to social media to share their astonishment.

One X user penned: "I THOUGHT HE WAS IN HIS 50S. HE'S F**KING 81???"

"WHAT?? HE'S 81??" questioned a second, while a third chimed in: "The man has been 81 for years now!"

A fourth joked: "He’s looked 50 for 50 years."

"That’s the thing, he’s always been in his 50s," joked a fifth, while a sixth quipped: "To be fair, he’s looked in his 50s for the last 45 years."

Another agreed: "Right?? I swear I thought he was ageing in dog years or something. If I look half that good at 81, someone better be checking on whoever's keeping me that... energised."

And a final X user echoed: "I refuse to believe he’s anything over 60."

Speaking of DeVito, the likes of Drew Barrymore once revealed she left her 'sex list' at his house.

"I was producing a film that Danny DeVito was directing,” she said, referring to the 2003 movie Duplex, in which she also starred alongside Ben Stiller.

"I wrote the list on the back of a set of notes for the film… So I left it at Danny DeVito’s house."

The list, which spanned just one page, contained the 'full names' of all the peeps she'd got it on with.

But did Danny ever find it?

Luckily, he did not.

"I did admit to him," Barrymore added, referring to a previous episode of her show where she dropped the bombshell on the It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia actor on camera, adding: "He came on the show, and I was like, 'I left my sex list at your house'."

DeVito, however, assured Barrymore that he actually 'never came across' the list, adding in his 2022 appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show: "I never saw it."

He went on to let her know: "Your secret is safe with me."
